“Came up here after a 9+ drive from Colorado since Runza is a South Dakota staple. The staff were so wonderful even with us showing up before they close the dining room and were so friendly. I hope that this Runza never closes since it's the only one in Kansas and really made our night. Appreciate y'all so much 💯“

“Ladybird Diner absolutely nailed it. We ordered standard breakfast fare and it was anything but ordinary — everything was amazing, served hot with huge portions. The service was spot-on: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The classic diner vibes give it a cozy, hometown feel, perfect for a relaxing start to the day. Pricing was very reasonable considering the generous portions. Parking out front made things easy, and although I’ve heard there can sometimes be a wait, we were seated right away. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fantastic breakfast in downtown Lawrence — locals, travelers, and brunch lovers alike.“

“This is a fine restaurant with one exception. We felt very rushed throughout the meal. Menus were handed to us before we even sat down and it went downhill. On at least three occasions I had to speak up and ask the servers to slow down and stop being so attentive so we could enjoy out meal and conversation. Every time I started a conversation with my son. whom we had not seen in awhile, someone interrupted with some trivial question. I am used to dining where the servers are essentially unobtrusive until needed. I am prepared to give this restaurant a try again because I did like the food. However, I am taking another couple out to clebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and I am going to be very up front about the service expected before we sit down. I get that "turn" is the name of the game but this isn't a fast food joint. If they expect to have repeat business with the older and well-heeled crowd they need to be a little more attentive to the needs of their customers.“

“DO NOT RECOMMEND (Yet somehow my review changed to "recommends" and I cant update it.) I've ordered the same chips and cheese here for years and never paid more than $3.50 -$5.00 for plain chips and melted shredded cheese. Tonight, the bartender you always have to watch your tab with (aka, you order a single and she'll pour you and charge you for a double / order 4 beers and your tab will show 6 etc) charged me $16 for plain chips and shredded cheese...charged me for full nachos (meat, all toppings, etc) and refused to change it. Go anywhere BUT HERE! You'll order a water and end up with a $20 glass of ice. There's 2 things in my life you don't mess with and that's my dogs and my money. I gave 2 options: (1) I pay it and never come back. (2) They charge me what I normally pay and I just never order it again. They opted to charge the full price. So, they chose $11-$13 over keeping a customer that's been going 1-2x a week for years. They're as dumb as they look. After updating business owners I know that take their employees there and a friend that was going to have them cater for her event of my experience , that $11 you stole from me just cost you a LOT MORE. You saw me as 1 person, but have no idea who I actually am. How unfortunate for you.“
