I was in Lawrence, KS for work and decided to stop into Dempsey’s Pub for dinner. Stellar atmosphere, great food and as a bonus they have Happy Dad Hard Seltzers! Highly recommend this place!

I didn't realize Dempsey's did brunch so I dropped in to try it out. They're Chicken and waffles were great, their coffee was okay, and their biscuit and gravy was pretty terrible. Service was great as always.

Went on Ku football game day versus WV. We made reservations 3 days ahead for the porch. Which seemed held for us, as they had to go check the porch area when we got there. But everything seemed good, waitress was very nice. Tell we order the food, waitress told us kitchen was behind which I thought was nice to let us know. We did hear someone say they waited 45 minutes for food. As we waited 25 minutes for the burgers. Then the appetizer came or at least 1 of them. After we finished the burgers we told the waitress we didn’t need the 2nd appetizer fried pickles or fries. About that time the fries showed up. The really bad part was the fries tasted REALLY bad(like old grease or moldy)and we even couldn’t eat them. The waitress was nice and didn’t charge us for the fries/pickles.
I guess overall I wish we didn’t go here on game day. I would suggest a game day menu and checking the tarp/grease usage. The ladies with us were actually smelling on the porch that same taste that was in the fries. As the grease smell from the kitchen cooking was blowing through the porch area. ROCK CHALK!

Went to eat here and got told by the hostess that she didn't know how long the wait was because they were only seating 4 tables. She had no intention on helping us and I was very upset because I look at the menu before I choose a restaurant. Will probably never try to go back. Very bad service.

They’ve completely eliminated ordering to go or delivered. Just now, clicking the website a little pop up emerges to place an online order. After clicking you see no online orders available. Right now on the Facebook page says delivery options. Nope! They’ve made it impossible to conveniently order ahead of time. If you manage to get a phone order in, your order will likely come out wrong.

Came here for the game day and had a great experience. The food was good and our waitress (receipt said Leila) was attentive and helpful even when it was pretty busy with the game going on.
The burgers are pretty big. We tried several different kinds of fries. The Reuben delicious and cheesey. The server was very attentive and made sure our drinks stayed filled.

I want to start off this review by saying that this one of my favorite spots to eat -- especially for Sunday brunch. I have had nothing but positive experiences when eating here for a meal. The restaurant is always clean, the staff is always friendly, and the food comes out quickly and delicious each time. On Sunday 08.10.2025 all of those things continued to be true, until I checked my bank statement and saw one of the waitresses - Leila G is what was on my receipt, tipped herself extra on my card after I had already left her a tip in cash. I wouldn't have even been aware that she had done this if I didn't keep the customer copy that I had filled out so I knew how much I had spent. When I called they refunded me the money BUT never apologized once or let me know they would speak with the staff about this to make sure it doesn't happen in the future. If you go eat here, make sure you pay for your bill in cash and if you're going to pay with a credit card, make sure Leila G isn't your waitress.
