Google said it was open till Midnight on Friday and the bartender just walked up to the door and made the cutting hand signal at 11pm and wouldn’t even talk to us despite there being a half dozen of his friends clearly enjoying themselves at the bar. We walked a mile to come to my wife’s old stomping grounds.

I had been forgotten by my server, but the staff swooped in and made it right! We were not upset at all, they were lovely and the atmosphere was very cozy. Food was GREAT. Highly recommend The Phog with the shallot topping, the truffle fries, the bacon cheddar fries, honestly all of it! Definitely check this place out for a tasty, affordable, cozy location downtown.

Very delicious food. Wait staff was helpful, but spent a great deal of time chatting and flirting with each other. Wrong drinks delivered - fixed immediately. Onion rings were doughy and undercooked - replaced quickly. Burgers, fried pickles, cheese curds, sweet potato fries were beyond delicious - best burger we've had un ages. So good! We waited a LONG time to get our ticket after our meal - two couples dining together - and she did not ask how we wanted the ticket divided, just brought one ticket to the table. It was too frustrating and taking too long to get the ticket, we did not want to wait longer to fix it.

My kids and I decided to try Dempsey’s Irish Pub for takeout this past Sunday evening, and we were not disappointed! We opted for a pickup, and the process was smooth and efficient
The staff was friendly and had our order ready right on time. They were courteous and made sure we had everything we needed before we left. It was clear they take pride in their work and care about their customers.
Ordered Egg Burger and House Burger cooked medium. Delicious, although House Burger was a little dry my daughter thought. The portions were generous! Did not come with a side.
Our experience with Dempsey’s Irish Pub in Lawrence, KS. Can’t complain, the food was really good. The convenience of the pickup option, combined with the delicious food and great service, made for a wonderful evening. Spent about $35 on two burgers.
We will go back and highly recommend it to others looking for great pub meal in Lawrence.
Parking: Since our order was pickup and on a Sunday we parked Nextdoor in the post office parking. But it’s typical Lawrence parking on the street. They may have had parking in the back.

Went in on a busy Friday with my boyfriend, we knew it would be busy, but we just happened to go on a night that the kitchen was extremely backed more than usual. Our server, Tucker, was so on top of things and keeping us posted about our order and when it would come out. Ended up comping our meal half off, which was super unexpected but definitely appreciated. His service and the entertainment (drag racing on the TV) absolutely made our wait worthwhile. The food was worth it. The fried pickles and truffle fries were awesome, albeit a little too greasy. He got The Phog, I got the wings. Both were great. Haven't been to this pub in years, but I'm glad we went back.
