I travel all over the country for work, I’m in a different city every weekend. I am an avid pool player. I’ve been in the KC area all weekend and I can say that the pool scene isn’t as big here as it is in other cities across the country. I’ve visited several pool halls in the area this weekend, and Empire Bar and Billiards tops the list for me in the KC area. They have one 9’ diamond with tight pockets ($8/hr), and several 7’ diamonds, im not sure the hourly rate for the 7’ tables, but I’m pretty sure that they are $1.00/game, quarter tables. It’s a great pool hall, I’m glad I found it, I wish I would have found it Friday night when I pulled into town.
I can’t speak on the drinks, because I don’t drink. But the pool room is Grade A

Kind workers and awesome atmosphere! Love going here with friends to play some pool and listen to music. Have NOT tried the food but it looks great!
An overall good bar with a good beer selection. Had the daughter of one of the bartenders take my seat, so I waited behind them for a while, until they asked how to unlock my phone. Then they stole my drink claiming it was theres.... Then complained to other patrons that I was messing/stealing with her drink (which wasn't hers as she had a standard pint glass all night vs a 2 pint mug....) I was told I was abrashive for calling them out, which I did politely and in a low calm volume as I recognized they were inebriated. I spent over 600$ the past week at that location but the Nepotism makes it a hard pass. The do no wrong mentality of an obviously drunk party due to ties with a worker, paired with the defense of the bartender who cut them off after is too much. I tabbed out after getting a replacement drink, but was hoping it would be a local bar I could frequent. I shall not be returning, as it was clear that night that I wasn't welcome.
