Fantastic cupcakes! We stopped here after a failed attempt at a different sweet treat and boy am I glad it worked out the way it did! Super cute little shop with gorgeous & delicious cupcakes!

Amazing service and quality! Ordered a gluten-free cake for a friend’s birthday at the last minute, and the manager pleasantly let me know pick-up the next day would be possible. There was a small mix-up at pick-up, BUT the staff and manager worked it out quickly and offered a variety of solutions. We went with cupcakes for same-day pick-up. My friend said the cupcakes were fluffy and airy, which is hard to find for gluten-free, and appreciated the decoration (even more impressive given the super short lead time; sorry for the low lighting in the photo). She is pleased to have found a bakery in Lawrence for gluten-free treats, and the service is bar none. Wish I could give this place more than 5 stars!

The cakes and icing here are DRY! Even though the service girl was lovely the cupcakes were not. I bought a four pack, one for myself and then the rest I was going to take to the office tomorrow to share with the girls who have been training me at work and they would just be an embarrassment to try to share. The cake was dry and the icing was hard. Maybe it's a ploy to sell milk as an accompaniment, but more than likely they're using day or two day old cakes to lower inventory overhead. Either way, the cake was dry and tasted like Walmart cake and buttercream and totally not worth even a quarter of what I paid for them. You can get a cupcake bouquet from Walmart with moist cake that is on par with what you can get at this cupcakery.

The first cake is what I just pick up. Does it look anything like 2 pictures. No happy birthday her name and age. And the lady said well that is a 4 layer ok I don’t know that I don’t cook nor do I bake cakes that’s why I paid somebody else to do it. Please tell me if I’m wrong. I’m upset. My granddaughter is gonna be hurt because she helped me pick out the cake. I know things aren’t gonna be just the same, but it could be close

Best place in Lawrence to get custom cakes and cupcakes! The cake is moist and their frosting is perfection — full of flavor without being overly sweet. Highly recommend if you’re looking for sweet treats for birthdays, weddings, fundraisers, events, or even just those random, urgent cupcake cravings.

Smallcakes ruined our gender reveal! My wife ordered a six inch cake (which we were charged over $50 for!) and we let them know it was for a surprise gender reveal. We had a family member call to inform them pink or blue for the inside. When moving the cake from the plastic container to a plate before we cut into it, there was a large blob of blue frosting on the bottom of the plastic, ruining our surprise. Overall the cake was not great either and had ridiculously thick frosting. We feel robbed of a special moment and would not recommend Smallcakes to anyone.

My kids and I love Smallcakes and they have a great variety. Gluten free is an option on certain days and special orders. Highly recommend for special occasions and any time a treat is needed!

I had gotten the Chocolate Cream gluten-free cupcakes and they were SO good. The cake was moist and the icing to cake ratio was perfect. The icing especially was next level—super rich and chocolatey, kind of like fudge you’d eat straight from the jar. It had that smooth, melt-in-your-mouth vibe that made it hard to stop at just one. Definitely recommend!

The cake of the cupcake is delicious but the icing is truly my favorite part of their cupcakes. They are also my go to gift for my business relationships. They always get a wow from my customers.

The cupcakes are obviously always great, but the service is seriously amazing!!!! I was just in to get 6 cupcakes for my birthday, and the man that helped me was so sweet 🥺💗 I didn’t ask his name but I totally should of because he deserves all the props!! He has brown hair and was working today (Monday 4/28) in the afternoon. He seriously made my day 🥳😊😊😊 thank you so much again!
