I got the nachos and it was okay, the meat that was on it was delicious! The nachos just didnt have enough toppings, it had way more chips than toppings and it just wasn't what I thought it'd be. (The picture looked way better) I feel i should've gotten a sandwich because it looked way more filling and I did sneak a bite. I would suggest getting the sandwich!
Normally I absolutely love the food but this time I ordered two load baked potatoes and I did not get that. I did not get butter or sour cream and my husband did not get the sauce for his. I was very disappointed and when I called to explain what happened the person who answered the phone basically said who cares and hung up.

All in all not a bad place to stop in and get lunch with lots of items to choose from and plenty of side options the staff was polite friendly and professional the store is handicap ♿️ friendly and has plenty of parking go check it out for yourself you won't be disappointed 😀

Yes this is in a gas station but the burnt ends are so tender and delicious. They allow as much BBQ sauce as you want. I'm fond of their potato salad and giant chocolate chip cookies.
Ordered the loaded baked potato. It came with no butter or sour cream. I guess I might have had to ask for it, but, it’s a loaded baked potato… I expected it to come with the basics. The toppings were fine, and the pork was pretty good, but the overall potato experience was mid. Also, the guy at the counter heard me ask for no lettuce and took off all veggies??? So I had to ask him to put all on EXCEPT for lettuce, and he seemed annoyed to put the other toppings back on at the register. I like that the restaurant is in the gas station though, that’s cool. I won’t go back when I can go to any number of bbq places in Lawrence and get a more expected experience.
It's kansas city. 5 stars for BBQ is a tall order. Id love to come back and change after I've ate everywhere else. This was as good or better than all the high end gas station start-ups near downtown (Jim's, jack shack, Joe's, etc). Highly recommended. The spicy sauce is on par with Rosedales. (This entire review is IYKYK...)

My wife and I took our kids and grandkids to have barbecue after church at Stanley James we have heard so many good things about this place and finally made our way out there to give it a try. Our oldest granddaughter has celiac and is very strict gluten-free. They accommodated her situation with kindness and were very thorough in making sure it was gluten-free. The food was fantastic and I would highly recommend this to anyone. great barbecue well done, Jordan.
