We have lived in Lawrence for three years and ate here for the first time. Dang! We were missing out. If you want great coffee options with the best breakfast in town, THIS is the place. We had the breakfast burrito and biscuits & gravy. Both are outstanding. The salsa that came with the burrito is easily the best salsa in Lawrence (sorry El Porto we still love you too). Great staff, our waitress was excellent, friendly and attentive.
Love the friendly staff, the great upstairs atmosphere (top tier chill with a drink and book spot), and menu options! 🌻
One recommendation: It took a chain of four staff members to find out if the gluten free chocolate chip cookies were made with any almond products. For those of us allergic to tree nuts (and peanuts), it would be amazing to have a little sign of ingredients with the baked goods. I think the Merc has little ingredient lists on their baked...

My go-to coffee shop for most things! Usually one of the first places I take a friend who's in town visiting, meeting a client for work, working remote or just want a nice environment to read and hang out. Their service is absolutely fantastic and I love that I can grab either type of brew I'm wanting - cup of coffee or pint of beer! In many ways feels like you could be at a bike shop in the middle of Boulder! Also, the amount of seating options and electrical outlets...
