Visiting from Florida and Joe was fantastic! The bar reminds me of our beach bars back home (minus the beach of course). Joe was lively, friendly, and personable. We went mid afternoon on a Saturday and the bar wasn’t too crowded. Drinks were great and you can’t beat the price. Very happy that I got to experience this place and that we got to meet Joe.

We were in Lawrence dropping off our kid at KU and decided to check this place out. This is now one of our favorite bars of all time. Joe was slinging some excellent drinks and interacted with everyone at the bar. If I lived in Lawrence, this would be my neighborhood bar.
I really wish I could write a proper review, I'm sure it's great inside. Immediately rejected by the door guy for not knowing the address on my ID even after expressing my circumstance for frequent address changes.
It's understandable to cast judgment on ID's for someone who is perceivably younger, But they could be a little more respectful without embarrassing customers by making unnecessary snarky comments implying deliberate misuse of a fake ID

I was visiting family for the holidays. I visited the Sandbar, to watch a Chiefs game. It was awesome they hosted a potluck and had random specials for shots. Everyone was inviting and chatty. Best of all super dog friendly. I mean like, dogs off leash with no one freaking out. I loved my visit.

A little disappointed, rude door guy.
