Love this place! My fiancé took me to El Potro and o hated it. Didn’t trust his judgment after. I’m not from Lawrence so I had to look on google and trust google images to make sure it’s authentic. This place did not disappoint!!! Food is amazing! Their torta de milanesa os AMAZING!!! Second time I get it! This is a little hidden gem!! 😋

Ordered the carne asada burrito with chips and salsa, the carne asada was RAW when delivered. Once i opened the container it was the most rotten smell ive ever smelt in my life. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET

Our first time here! The food is delicious and a good price. I absolutely love a little local restaurant and this is exactly what I was looking for. The owner is so friendly, too! The salsa is flavorful and spicy! Queso was also tasty, and the chips were fresh. Will be back often.
Parking: The parking lot has seen some wear, so don't drive too fast.

The food was excellent. I hadn't been since they moved from the 6th st location a few years ago. Did NOT disappoint! I had fish tacos that were huge.
Vegetarian options: You can order anything without meat, aside from obviously non-vegetarian dishes, like wings.
Parking: There are a lot of potholes in the parking lot, so be careful.

Are here 3 years ago , came back specifically to eat here again . Chilaquiles and tortas are amazing . Fed my family of six under $100 that is tough to beat nowadays . They have a variety of food not just Mexican . Will drive back to eat here again .

I've tried hard numerous times to try and like this place as an empire regular but this place is comically bad... literal photo of the food untouched when I got home after ordering it to go... it's also short a taco. Place is garbage
The carne aside and the chips tonight tasted terrible. I called to let the manager know that we were disappointed but he stood behind his product. So just a fair warning…..I’d probably stay away from those products.

Only good thing I have to say about this place is the server was pleasant. Being a southern Cali native, I hold Mexican food to a high standardWe ordered two burritos. One pork pastor, one veggie. The meat burrito was specifically required to be made with extra onion and cilantro. There is more onion and cilantro on the planet Mars than on my order. It was a cold flour tortilla filled 90 percent with rice and a horribly small portion of meat that would serve better as stucco. 10 dollars for a cold tortilla, rice, and enough ingredients to make half a street taco..The veggie burrito was supposed to come with rice, beans, guacamole, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, pico, and peppers. There was no guacamole, cheese, or beans, and there was a very small amount of onion and tomato , and canned jalapeño peppers on the very bottom.Very disappointed, would not recommend!

Service is terrible. Owner has anger management issues. I was yelled at after I received the wrong order and asked if they could fix it. I know working in customer service is difficult so I always try to be as polite and accommodating as possible and I don't think I deserved to be yelled at for asking if I could get the meal I paid for.
