My daughters and I have lunch at Wheatfields each week. I always look forward to trying the sandwich special and have never been disappointed. But the meatball sub this week was probably my favorite so far. Once I added a cinnamon roll latte and a slice of the pumpkin mousse cake, it was a perfect lunch.

WOW was this place was that good!!! The bread omg and just the turkey and cranberry amazing definitely will be back! The atmosphere to was so amazing!!! Smells so good in there! We are from out of town coming for the KU game so we had no expectations for WheatFields, when we come back to Lawrence this is the spot we will come too first!!

Sandwiches were big and delicious ... as always❣️, so couldn't wait to show it to my friend from KC! However, the staff ruined the entire experience. 😰 She got scolded for standing at the Wrong counter to order her sandwich!! Then when we went to order some pastries on the way out, it seemed like they couldn't wait to hurry up and GET OUT!! 😡 Very rude & dismissive behavior. I was truly embarrassed that I had told my friend what an awesome bakery it was. ☹️ It was a good 35 minutes before closing time when they started mopping the floors -- and there were at least 4 or 5 customers still having coffee & eating in the shop. Although the food was 5 🌟, I won't be back for a long time - if ever! So, so disappointed.

Every time I am in Lawrence, visiting Wheatfields is a must. A European vibe adjusted to local taste - it's a win. Would it be lunch, coffee and sweets, or buying a bread. I usually end up with more bread than I can eat, but it is delicious even after I freeze it. And of course, the service! The employees there are alwayes friendly, and they seem to take pride in their work. Thank you.

You have to get your bread here and if you call the day before they will actually share their starter with you. What an awesome bakery and you need to check out the sweets. The coconut macaroons look amazing pictured below.

Great little place, but needs more seating. Love the variety of sandwiches and daily specials,but would like the option to switch/sub different breads.The baguette for the grilled chicken is too hard and hurt the roof of my mouth.

Phenomenal bread. Delicious desserts. I've always had great service here. You must, must, must try this place if you haven't. They have a Kalamata olive bread that we adore. The Baguette is one of the best we've ever had! And don't leave without treating yourself to an espresso truffle
