Rye Leawood Reviews
We recently hosted a rehearsal dinner and welcome reception at Rye Leawood and we had an incredible experience. From early on in the planning process to the event itself, the experience was expectational. They went above and beyond.
India, the Event Manager, was so helpful with the planning of the room design, food menu, and beverage menu. Everything I requested she delivered on - the perfect layout of the room to accommodate the rehearsal dinner followed by the welcome reception...read full review
I wrote a review about a year ago when a group of us visited Rye during COVID. It was not a good experience as they were grossly under staffed and kept moving us. We had a group of 12 but they could not get us out of there fast enough. They could have easily accommodated us as we were in no rush but instead stood over us trying to get us to leave. Rye Leawood offers a mixed dining experience, combining excellent service with a warm atmosphere. Many visitors have enjoyed tasty dishes, such as fried chicken, which is the best, and the mac’n’cheese will send you into a state of euphoria. It’s hard to find places with a top-class pie menu, but Rye delivers. The restaurant's incredible cocktails help to wash down the delicious food. Also, don’t sleep on Saturday brunch. The Cinnamon Roll is so amazing, and the Eggs Benedict with hash browns is served with a light and lemon sharp hollandaise.
For those seeking a special outing, Monday nights feature steak night, offering a choice of hanger, ribeye, filet, or pork chop, paired with a salad, a side, and a slice of pie for $50, which many have found scrumptious. While the pies and desserts have received five-star ratings, some guests find the inside absolutely freezing and a little loud to have a quiet conversation. Despite mixed reviews, Rye Leawood remains a solid choice for an upscale yet unpretentious dining experience.
