Chewology had very cute decor. We were seated very quickly. Our meal began with the wood earmushroom salad it was chew and vinegary. Next we had the beef Napa dumplings they had a small kick and they were my personal favorite. The pork cabbage dumplings were similar to other restaurants still very good. Finally our meal ended with the beef noodles. The beef noodles had a rich beef broth with small pieces of boc choy and slices beef very flavorful and delicious. A great experience. We will return.

Feels like the chef had a good vision for the menu, but there’s issues every where. A/C was rough in the summer. Drinks came out late in an empty restaurant. Food just ok for a steep price

I’m Taiwanese, and my first two visits here were pretty good, but yesterday’s experience was a complete disaster.

My husband and I ordered fried chicken as an appetizer. The first batch came out still raw on the inside. When we received the remade version, it was slightly overcooked and noticeably smaller in portion size.

Moving on to the main dishes. First, the beef dumplings were overcooked. The wrapper was soggy, and the beef inside was dry. It then took a long time for our other two main dishes to arrive. The Dan Dan noodles were not cooked properly and lacked of seasoning. As for the beef noodle soup, the broth was so overwhelmingly spicy that I couldn’t even take a second bite. I ended up switching to the Lu Rou Fan, but the rice was so hard that it ruined the dish. I still finished it, but only because we had already been at the restaurant for over an hour.

Overall, the experience was terrible, even though they did remove the fried chicken and beef noodles from our bill. We were seated near the kitchen and could see everything happening inside—the cooks were moving in slow motion. There were only four tables occupied, yet we still waited about 45 minutes for our main courses.

I’m so disappointed. This used to be the best place for authentic Taiwanese noodles, but sadly, that’s no longer the case. I don’t think I’ll be coming back anytime soon.

We had the whole place to ourselves right at opening! The staff were informative and attentive without being overbearing. The food was an explosion of flavors. We ordered both of the rice dishes on the menu. We were partial to the pork belly but the crab was great as well. After the pork belly rice, the dressed eggs were our favorite bite! They had so much flavor and were perfectly balanced. We also ordered the smacked cucumber and the Taiwanese fried chicken. We were happy with everything we ate and the overall ambiance! We will definitely be back :)

Went on sunday evening, a slower night.. would definitely go back when it’s a bit busier. The fried chicken is pretty good, the beef scallions and the eggs are a must!

Food was adequate, perhaps factoring in the price, a little below what I was expecting. It certainly is not authentic Taiwanese food; I've lived in Taiwan. The exception would be the xiaolongbao; that was outstanding.

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to in Kansas City. Having lived in NYC and Philadelphia this place reminds me of a restaurant I would find in a large metropolitan area. From the food to the staff and ambiance great place. Can’t wait to come back again

The food was delicious! It was my first time ordering Dan Dan Noodles, and now I’ve come to the realization I’m going to forever be comparing to the ones from Chewology. The egg they include feels more like a sauce, it’s delectable.

Only critique (which is small) is our drinks were empty for a bit longer than we’d like between fills. It was during the heat wave so between the heat and the salty food we were quite thirsty.

A bit upscale, pleasant, clean, modern atmosphere. A touch of accent lighting and neon, some live edge wood, and other decor appropriate to a Taiwanese restaurant. On the main drag in Westport.

It is the type of place that serves interesting small plates with very small portions, as well as some main dishes.

The Three Cup Mushroom Ramen was excellent, so long as you enjoy mushrooms. A slightly sweet and pleasant complex of flavors, pretty sure I tasted garlic oil among other nicely balanced flavors.

The Tofu Bao was quite tasty, a nice lightly sweet sauce, with cilantro, fried and pickled onions giving it a pleasant contrast.

The Spring Greens and Yuba were, interesting and pleasant, but having tried them I probably would have gone with another option.

The mochi for dessert is the gooey kind, small bites with ice cream inside. They had sesame and lychee, which were each very subtle in flavor. Pleasant enough, although the texture is a little weird.

The service was friendly and seemed genuine.

I would expect to spend more than the prices would suggest, as you probably need to order a handful of small plates per person. The ramen portion might be enough depending on your appetite. They seemed to expect reservations, although we picked a quiet night.

I would say it is definitely worth giving a try for the right occasion.

We went for the first time and overall it was pretty good. Only complaint is the spice level. The food was very spicy. Other than that it was good

Came here for an early dinner and before I stopped in I checked out the menu online and was so excited to try some of the food offered. My friend and I had some drinks (Headless Quenchman and Lambi Island Highball) and we enjoyed them! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, I really loved the decor and general ā€œvibeā€ of the place. Now to the important part— the food. We tried the pork dumplings, a pork bao, Taiwanese noodles, and pork rice bowl. I’m Chinese so the menu excited me beforehand, but upon actually eating the food, I was a bit disappointed. The Taiwanese noodles were really salty, the pork in the rice bowl didn’t have that rich dark coloring to it (so for those that don’t normally know what it looks like it may not have looked as appetizing), and the portions were small for the cost. It’s hard to leave this review because I really want to support another small Asian-owned business, but the price point isn’t something I’m willing to settle on quality for.
