Some of the best bbq that I've had in the Johnson County. The portions were very generous for what I paid for.

Not sure why this place is never spoken of as one of the great KC BBQ places up with the others. The food is definitely a top 5 bbq in KC and the sauce is easily a top 3. It is a super casual place that just makes great food. I have been here several times, and the only downside is that the they are occasionally understaffed with waiters/waitresses which can make paying your bill a little slow. Other than that this place is great.

Wheelchair accessibility: Very easy to get around in all locations of there restuarant! We used the ladies restroom an it was very large in size. My neice uses a wheelchair, an everything is very easy to get around in there location.Would highly recommend Hayward's BBQ!The food was excellent ??

Perfect place for a fast lunch and a great taste of BBQ. Road-tripping through the US, we didn’t have time to do much in KC but Hayward’s was worth the stop.Everything we ate was great, but especially the burnt ends and mac & cheese. Great and friendly service from Ginger. Authentic experience.

On March 9th, I visited this establishment and unfortunately had a dreadful experience. Despite having previously encountered issues during a visit a couple of years ago, I decided to give it another chance. However, today’s visit was exceptionally disappointing. Despite the sparse crowd, our server displayed rude behavior, rushing us to pay immediately after our food was served. Additionally, upon returning from a brief restroom break, I was dismayed to find my $17 meal discarded, despite hardly being touched. I strongly discourage patronizing this establishment. For those craving barbecue, there are far superior options available in the area!

Typically my first meal when I land in Kansas City is barbecue. There are so many great choices for barbecue here that it's hard to pick. I strolled into Hayward's on a Sunday afternoon around 4 PM, sat at the bar, was greeted by a terrific server and ordered a local beer while I looked at the menu. They claimed to have "the best burnt ends ever". It's quite a claim in this town! So I ordered the burnt ends and ribs dinner with a side of beans and tots. The ribs were meaty, cooked perfectly, not over seasoned and had a gorgeous pink smoke ring. Absolutely perfect. The burnt ends were spectacular. They really were the best I've ever eaten. The serving size was just right so I had a couple of bones to take with me for a midnight snack. My experience defines why barbecue in Kansas City is so popular and so yummy. I will be back many times.

Hayward's is one of the venerable que joints in town. It still has amazing ribs and smoked meats. Sides are not as A list as other places. Still good, but they could use some work.

I have eaten many barbecue places before throughout Kansas City from the sixties to 2024, and I first went to Hayward about three months ago over in Kansas . and as far as barbecue places go Hayward is number one in My books , Kansas City. Missouri used to be the leader of barbecue back in the day . Haywards has shut them down in always. The first meal I had there was the burnt end there beans and coleslaw excellent meal, the next meal I had was the ribs. Dem ribs are so good you don’t even have to eat it with sauce as I heard it said before, ribs are so good you slap someone’s mama in the mouth and I had Ruben sandwich there and the meat is smoked I don’t care for sauerkraut or any kind of sauce you put on it man that sandwich was like 3 inches thick and I had their perfect beans, potato salad and put on a regular sandwich bread because I don’t like a lot of bread I would praise them. They are so good. If I could I will give them 10 stars. The would. It is so nice and peaceful family like and the people that work there are Number one in my bookParking: Right, I 35 and 75th Street about a quarter mile
