What you would expect from a great concept that has been over commercialized. Dealing with success is hard. Food was good and creative. Given the popularity I am glad I can say I have been but I won't rush back. There are lots of great eating experiences in the greater KC area to try out first. Net, net it was perfectly fine end to end

Unfortunately it was not as good as it normally is. We've only ate at the Lenexa location once before (we normally go the the Freight House location). I always get the burnt ends (which they are known for) and they are normally delicious but were sub par at best. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich and had to return it as it was so dry and hard even after they replaced, it wasn't much better, both were almost like leftovers that had dried out. When making the reservations it asked if it is a special occasion and we said yes it was for a birthday and nothing by was ever mentioned about that, so unsure why they ask. Disappointing.

Stopped at this location for our brother in law's birthday and he is from SanDiego. His first experience with KC bbq was memorable and we will be back!

Amazing. We went in on a Friday night at 915pm and with a party of 7, which is a kitchens worst nightmare so close to closing time. But our server was amazing and gracious and accommodating. Food was amazing and my husbands filet did come out cooked med well when he ordered med rare, and the manager came over herself and apologized and offered to make him a new dish- being so late and he not being picky, he said no, he'd eat the well done steak. She then not only comp'd his meal, she also took off 15% off our entire party's tab. So even tho we were “those customers” she and her staff went above and beyond and made us feel welcome and appreciated. Super satisfied and would dine here again absolutely.

Best aspargus ever. Enjoyed a sampler platter for 2, with enough leftovers for the next day. Server, Coffee, was a delight: well versed in The offerings, personable and highly competent.

Our waiter, Coffee, was exceptional! Even when he wasn't waiting on us, he included us when he'd walk by and say something funny. He definitely kept us entertained while we waited for our food. The bad thing was, when we left, we took leftovers and a carrot cake that my husband truly loves! We were travelling and we accidentally left them in the hotel refrigerator! :-( By the time we remembered this, we were too far down the highway to turn back. So we missed out on the wonderful food again.

We ordered for two, and they told us they didn't have brisket. I asked for more ribs instead, but they wouldn't give me ribs to make up for the brisket they didn't have — they wanted to give me more pulled pork instead.

Everything was delicious as usual. The only disappointing thing about the whole meal was you all were out of pulled pork, which is pretty much what half of our party was looking forward to, but despite that everybody enjoyed and food was delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly. We will be back soon.

Five smoky stars for Jack Stack (Lenexa)! Busy, buzzy, and downright fun. We had a reservation and were seated early at a table for four—bliss. We ordered Jack's Best and it was a show-stopper for the whole crew. The onion rings? Mandatory. (I'm lobbying to make them a food group.) Sauces & dips: we worked our way through the Original, the Honey version, and the Spicy, plus that house ranch—dangerously good. Sides we devoured: the legendary cheesy corn, beans, coleslaw, and fries... and because our table leans brisket, we added a side of brisket for good measure. The pickled onions on the platter are swoon-level—bright little fireworks for all the smoky things. Everyone left happily stuffed with leftovers for two more meals for the two of us. Dessert strategy: take home the carrot cake, warm it, add vanilla ice cream, and prepare for joy so intense it might require a permit. The Lenexa location (newest as far as I know) nails the trendy, upscale barbecue vibe—solid wine & beer list, excellent salads with house-made dressing, and the best house lemonade I've ever had: consistently perfect. I've been a customer for 15+ years, and the quality still hits. Pro tip: there are six locations and crowds roll in hungry—make a reservation. Jack's still got the magic.

Everything was good as always! One of my favorite places to take family. Even my kids devoured their food!

Jack Stack is so overrated!! The brisket put in the sandwich was dry and flat! The worst was the fries came out stale and lukewarm warm. Since no one immediately followed up on how the food was so I had to wave on someone to tell them the fries were not hot or fresh. Then you will have to wait for a second batch to eat with your sandwich now the meat on the sandwich got even colder The second batch came out, disappointingly, still not hot enough I could tell they were not freshly fried. We didn't want to wait any longer so we just told them yeah it's hot this time We pay 1/4 of the price to Culver's, EACH TIME, fries came out piping hot . For this amount you spend and at a restaurant like Jack Stack and to have not once but twice not freshly hot fries, is unacceptable in my book My salmon cooked perfectly I have to say but the salad was so blend !! I have not been to Jack Stack for a while, based on previous experiences at other locations, I feel like they are so overrated! I decided to give it a try at this newer location and hoping for having my impressions changed, but no, it just proved again I was right, just a way overrated restaurant! Q39 is A LOT better!!

I've been to Jack stack barbecue three times. Once with a party of 10, a few weeks back by myself and just this week with two other coworkers. Each time I found the food to be average at best. In my opinion, the appetizers have proven to be better than the entrées. The fire kissed wings and the bbq shrimp were outstanding. The beef & pork burnt ends combo was fair but the pork was nothing but fat. My dog loved them. It would be nice to offer some green vegetable on the side's menu such as green beans or a vegetable mix. The atmospheres and wait staff were both above average. I'm sure I will be back bc my employees in Olathe dearly love this place but me, not so much. Thx
