My only complaint is that we felt so rushed. The waitstaff asked for drink orders before I even had my coat off. Appetizers were served before drinks, checks were delivered and and an attempt to get my husband's plate before he was done eating. The waitstaff was very nice and she kept saying “no rush” but we felt very rushed. The need to turn over the table seemed more important than our comfort.
They did everything right food, service, etc. Glad we are at 5 because the line at 6 was out the door
First, it was really cold where they sat us, close to the take out. The ribs were very good, the French fries were really bad, the baked beans were good, and the brisket would have been better if they didn't heat it up in a microwave, which dried it out. Overall, the quality of food was not worth the money.
We go there often but this happy hour was disappointing. The house margaritas were different and bitter. The pork sliders were small with sparse meat that seemed like leftovers, the pretzel buns were soft like they were microwaved instead of fresh. The 3 ribs were charred with only half being chewable. The ribs looked like rejects from the day before. The spinach salad was great. They did give us some ribs to take home but haven't tried them yet.
Chris and Sarah worked the Bar and helped our table and they did an amazing job. Especially busy with restaurant week!
We have always loved the food at Jack Stack and our latest experience did not disappoint. Our reservations were acknowledged right on time, the folks who seated us were very respectful and kind. We had 7 in our party and at no time did I hear a single complaint. Our server was spectacular even though the restaurant appeared to be full which meant she was very busy. The food was great, the service was great, the atmosphere was great, we'll be having leftovers tonight but we'll have to serve ourselves!
My birthday dinner was fabulous. The beef burnt ends were cooked to perfection- crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The pork ribs were delicious, too, as were the sides- beans and french fries. I also got a complimentary piece of warm carrot cake for my birthday- yum!
The Chef pulled a dirty trick on me....not the first time at this has happened at the Lenexa location. I ordered the two meat dinner combo with baby back ribs and beef brisket. The brisket was a bit dry but still ok, not great, but ok. The dirty trick involves the ribs. The Chef or his munchkin stack four ribs on top of each other. The first top two were great...jucy and meaty. The third one down had very little meat on it. The last one from the bottom was a thin end piece....overcooked, hard as shoe leather, totally un edible. Again, not the first time this has happened at this location. Doubt I'll be back there. That said, the service staff and reception folks are always great there. Too bad the Chef doesn't meet their standards.
We had fabulous evening at Jack Stack Lenexa, last night. The meal was delicious and we enjoyed the items on Winter menu. Liv and the rest of the staff gave us excellent, attentive service. We will definitely be back.
Rachelle and Crystal are amazing servers and our food was delicious as always. Thank you!!

What you would expect from a great concept that has been over commercialized. Dealing with success is hard. Food was good and creative. Given the popularity I am glad I can say I have been but I won't rush back. There are lots of great eating experiences in the greater KC area to try out first. Net, net it was perfectly fine end to end
Unfortunately it was not as good as it normally is. We've only ate at the Lenexa location once before (we normally go the the Freight House location). I always get the burnt ends (which they are known for) and they are normally delicious but were sub par at best. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich and had to return it as it was so dry and hard even after they replaced, it wasn't much better, both were almost like leftovers that had dried out. When making the reservations it asked if it is a special occasion and we said yes it was for a birthday and nothing by was ever mentioned about that, so unsure why they ask. Disappointing.
Stopped at this location for our brother in law's birthday and he is from SanDiego. His first experience with KC bbq was memorable and we will be back!
