The BEST Perkins location- hands down! The server was fantastic, the food was even better. Fresh and delicious!
On our way out of Kansas City, we stopped at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery in Lenexa for breakfast. It conveniently located near the I-35 & 87th St interchange. It was early Saturday morning and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was attentive and helpful.
Very poor service at night. The last visit, I had to go back to the kitchen two different times to get service. Two other people came in waited to be seated, nobody ever came to help them so they left. This seems to be the norm at night. They are too busy cleaning or other stuff & not taking care of the customers when they are slow.
Good, solid food. No surprises! Food is good & is attractively plated. Their bakery operation is great: giant muffins and a great selection of pies , all attractively priced.
The menu has a wide variety to choose from, I had the Roast beef meal, with choice of two sides, I chose house salad with blue cheese and rice pilaf, from the 55 or older menu, and my husband had the huge breakfast, tremendous 12 and he liked it. We went at 5:30 pm. The only problem was there is a staffing issue. The cook ( drenched in perspiration) had to take orders, and seat people. I believe, if it was fully staffed, it would've been 5 star.
Good food and great friendly staff. We ordered an item no longer on the menu and they prepared it for us just as though it was still an item on the menu. Seemed eager to assist in whatever we requested.
They were out of 2 main entrees. Took a while to get our Food. Several tables were served even though they arrived and ordered after we did. Food was decent. Sweet tea was really good. Customer service was just ok.
Great food but you have to be careful of which day you go on. Not all cooks put out good food but I love to go and just hang out with friends.
We had a large party this evening, consisting of 13 people. We were given a place toward the back with several tables pulled together. The staff this evening was awesome. She took the orders quickly and the food arrived hot, correct, and very good. In one instance when the staff was exceptional and went out of her way, was when a couple of the children ordered fruit, she took it upon herself to bring all the kids fruit to avoid any fights. She was quick to meet our requests and did a fine job. The arrangement of food ordered ranged from salads to breakfast. All good. The restaurant was semi-busy, clean, and so were the bathrooms.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, what's not to like? Plus they have pies, cookies and muffins for sale. I like the roast Turkey dinner. You can't get that too many places. Food is delicious. Service is sometimes slow, but always friendly.

My wife and I had a very nice time. The food was delicious and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed ourselves and had some alone time just for us. I reccomend this restaurant for anybody looking for a calm, quiet place to spend some alone time with your wonderful significant other.
Second time visiting Perkins. My family loved it! I wish he had Perkins in TX a lot better than Ihop or Denny's.
Of the chains I like Perkins the best. The baked goods and meats are the most flavorful
Half price appetizers & pie after 9pm. Very family friendly. Great food & service!
Went early morning Father's day for breakfast. Everything was delicious and the service was speedy. I think the girls name was Lauren. Very friendly service.
