Sambusa
(SAMOSA) trianular, deep-fried pastry stuffed with beef, chicken or vegetables and/or lentils.

Special Dish
Yetsom Fir-Fir
shredded injera stir-fried with berbere and kibbe. It usually served with more injera or bread on the side.
Quanta Fir-Fir
shredded injera stir-fried with berbere , jerky beef and kibbe. It usually served with more injera or bread on the side.
Injera
A bag of freshly baked pure teff injera ( 5 sheets of injera )
Bozena Shiro
seasoned milled chickpeas simmered with cubes of lean beef.
Shiro be Kibbe
(legume stew) - reddish, saucy dish is made by combining a flour of ground split peas and/ or chickpeas with kibbe, or spiced clarified butter.
Qey Wot
slow-simmered tender lamb in spicy savory berbere sauce- served with a side of spinach and house made Ethiopian-style cheese.
Rice Salad
white salad is mixed with a variety of vegetables and romaine salad side is made with house dressing.
Shiro Wat
a lightly spiced chikpea or bean puree. Minced onions garlic and oil, ground ginger or chopped tomatoes and chilli peppers and spices
House Salad
Romaine Lettuce, sliced Tomatoes, and Onions tossed in dressing of Lemon and extra Virgin Olive Oil.

A blend of dishes. Combination of Gomen (boiled collard greens sau-teed with red onions), Yatakit Wat (carrots, potatoes, cabbage), Yemsir Wat (lentils with garlic, ginger, onion sauce) Yekik Alicha (yellow split peas) Beets and Potato Salad, Misir Alicha (shole lentil stew) and salad.

lean beef or lamb sauteed with awaze sauce, fresh rosemary, onions, jalapeno peppers, fresh tomatoes and garlic.
Ye Shekla TIbs
finger length strips of tender lean beef marinated and sauced in Kategna's spice, butter, green pepper, onions, garlic, and resh rosemary.
Kitfo
ground raw beef, marinated with mitmita(a chili powder) and butter (a clarified butter infused with herbs and spices) and could be served with 2 sides, gomen (cooked collard greens), cheese

Geba Weta
fresh minced roasted beef seasoned with mitmita , garlic and some other house made spices. Spiced butter, Jalapeno pepper and onion are added to maintain its special flavor.

sauteed meat chunks - tender sliced meat of choice sauteed blend of spices, onions, tomatoes, hot peppers, garlic, butter or oil and rosemary.

We eat Ethiopian food every chance we get, and Selamta is a top tier restaurant. The food is delicious and the fresh mango juice is a must! The people were kind, quick, and helpful.

I really wanted to like this place as the metro has great Ethiopian restaurants

The flavors just don’t seem as vibrant as some of the other Ethiopian restaurants we’ve had. My wife even had to add salt to her dish.

Also, other Ethiopian restaurants have offered vegetable sides with their meat dishes. Selamta does not. Limited selection of appetizers although their Sambusas are top notch. Wish menu had timatim fitfit.

This was a great place to do a double date. Delicious food, large portions, and a good cohort of native ethiopians enjoying the atmosphere made this a wonderful experience. I highly recommend.
