Sambusa
(SAMOSA) trianular, deep-fried pastry stuffed with beef, chicken or vegetables and/or lentils.

Special Dish
Yetsom Fir-Fir
shredded injera stir-fried with berbere and kibbe. It usually served with more injera or bread on the side.
Quanta Fir-Fir
shredded injera stir-fried with berbere , jerky beef and kibbe. It usually served with more injera or bread on the side.

A bag of freshly baked pure teff injera ( 5 sheets of injera )
Bozena Shiro
seasoned milled chickpeas simmered with cubes of lean beef.
Shiro be Kibbe
(legume stew) - reddish, saucy dish is made by combining a flour of ground split peas and/ or chickpeas with kibbe, or spiced clarified butter.
Qey Wot
slow-simmered tender lamb in spicy savory berbere sauce- served with a side of spinach and house made Ethiopian-style cheese.
Rice Salad
white salad is mixed with a variety of vegetables and romaine salad side is made with house dressing.
Shiro Wat
a lightly spiced chikpea or bean puree. Minced onions garlic and oil, ground ginger or chopped tomatoes and chilli peppers and spices
House Salad
Romaine Lettuce, sliced Tomatoes, and Onions tossed in dressing of Lemon and extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Geba Weta
fresh minced roasted beef seasoned with mitmita , garlic and some other house made spices. Spiced butter, Jalapeno pepper and onion are added to maintain its special flavor.

Nice local Ethiopian restaurant and bar. Some traditional favorites like tibs, sambosas and awake. Only wish they had more.options as the tastes were great. They have a little sports bar area with a pool table.

Essentially, service is friendly but painfully slow and incompetent (more on this below) BUT the food is JUST truly incredible, authentic, and succulent. Be prepared to wait WELL over an hour for your food—butI promise it will be worth the wait.

We eat Ethiopian food every chance we get, and Selamta is a top tier restaurant. The food is delicious and the fresh mango juice is a must! The people were kind, quick, and helpful.
