We ordered $100 worth of food and the only decent item was the queso. The beef fajita was not tender or marinated, the tortillas were not cooked or warmed at all, the beans were dry, the rice was from an instant package, the red salsa was bitter, the green salsa was just blended tomatillos with no other ingredients or seasonings, and the guacamole had white shredded cheese on top. Not worth it at all.

Brought my friend who has never been to Carlos. She agreed. AMAZING FOOD. The service was fantastic and we even got to take our salsa home in to-go cups! Truly could not ask for more. ? I’m so happy that one of the remaining Kansas Carlos O’Kelly’s is THRIVING. Give it a try!

The food was delicious. The customer service was fast, friendly and quite amazing. You don't always get good customer service everywhere you go but this was amazing, great experience to go out and have a great snack for lunch while shopping, I will definitely return again because it was worth it. everyone was super friendly and it was not loud or out of control like some restaurants.

Sever was fantastic, & the place is clean, but the food was so gross I didn’t eat any of it. They are getting low quality cuts of meat, and it’s just not prepared well. ?

Didn't even get utensils tonight! Come ON, what is going on with this place that it's so bad that's been on the verge of collapse for years? Look, I moved to MHK in 1990 when I was a kid, and I've eaten dozens of times at Carlos O'Kelly's since then, and the place has always been a mess. About 25% of the time the service is rotten, and about 10% of the time the food is kinda sketchy. I go years without going to the restaurant and then try it again because I like the queso so I want to give it another chance, but always regret it. It's fine for a few trips, then something goes wrong. A few years ago I got Chicken Picado that was melted cheese and tomatoes and nothing else, and the server made it clear she thought I was pulling a scam. (Yeah, the ol' chicken scam, where you lie about not getting your 1.3 oz of microwaved chicken, sure, that's exactly what I was doing.) So we didn't go back for years until a couple weeks ago, and it was fine, so we went again a couple of days ago, and it was another hot mess. My husband got a steak and couldn't eat it because they didn't bring a knife. The waitress spent 45 minutes saying they didn't have any clean knives but she'd bring one out "in two minutes" and then she'd wander off and come back having clearly forgotten about the knife. We asked for a butter knife instead and she said she didn't know what a butter knife was. I mean, that's just someone screwing with us, right? I gave my husband my fork so he could use two forks to pry that steak apart, while I ate an enchilada with the spoon I got with my beans, which tasted like dishwater might I add. The tortilla on my Enchilada de Monterey was like Silly Putty. You may say we should complain to the management but we gave that up in like 2006 or so, because nothing ever changes. And who was at fault tonight? Was the person running the dishwasher being difficult? Was the waitress being a jerk on purpose? Or is management not training their employees? Do I complain about the chef because of the iffy food tonight or is that a problem with their food service provider? So much goes wrong here all the time and clearly no one ever addresses the problems, and they're piling up.

The waitress was great but the food was nasty nasty nasty The microwave must've been on the fritz. The ambiance was ok the bill cost $84 and two people didn't even eat their food.
An amazing experience. My best friend and his wife came down from St. Louis to visit for the evening. They chose Carlos O'kelly's, and the food, atmosphere and service were fantastic! I had a Steak Enchilada, that was supposed to be a Fajita, but I like both, so it was delicious! The staff were friendly and courteous and added to our fun and humorous evening. Friend/brother paid for the meal and I paid the generous tip. Great Time! Great Memories!

Amazing as always. I live in Lincoln Ne and I drove 2 hours to eat here so if that tells ya about how good this place is! The queso is a must. As far as entrees go, “Esancho Especial” is where it’s at! Servers are great and quick with everything as well, even during busy game days down in Manhattan. Overall great experiences every-time!
