My personal favorites are the stuffed jalapeños, the Kansas roll, and the spicy California roll! When we walk in we are immediately welcomed! Service is great and fast! Definitely one of my favorite Manhattan restaurants!

We have eaten here several times, and I just don't enjoy it. It's a bit run down, and dimly lit for ambience, which contributes to the dingy feeling. The lettuce always tastes chemically, and the rest is subpar at best. It has been a few months since we have been, only because the food and experience aren't worth the price to us.

Came here with my wife after work- there was a family eating here, I assume a single mom with her two kids. The boy seemed to be on the spectrum. My wife told me as she was coming from the bathroom that the servers standing at the front were saying the most horrible things about this family. The kids were well behaved and they seemed to be laughing and having a good time, so hearing that really killed the vibe for her while we were waiting for our food. A little later I hear "why am I being charged for food I didn't order?" and "I'm telling you so you can do better next time" and I look over and the server walked away from the woman rolling her eyes. Both my wife and I are service members with kids and understand how impossible it is to take the family out to eat sometimes, and while eating I couldn't help but think how they would have treated my family in my absence, making assumptions and gossiping about children, charging her for food she didn't order, eye rolling, etc. On their way out, the little boy spilled a cup of water. Every staff member up front suddenly went "OHHHHHH" as if their favorite team just fumbled the ball. Everyone in the restaurant stopped and stared, and the little boy got embarrassed and started crying and apologizing. The mom was frantically trying to clean up her table and calm her son while staff just stared. Our food was great and the experience was okay, but my wife and I can't stop thinking about how the staff treated that woman and her children. Definitely will be opting for Umi's because of this.

It doesn't look like much but the sushi is great. My only complaint is they'll overdo the cream cheese if you order a roll with cream cheese. However, if that's the worst I'm here for it. I've tried a lot of various rolls and all of them were great. Once they messed up a roll and they fixed it no problems. The service is great here.
