Hillside cafe is one of the rare places in Manhattan where the food is proportional to the money you spend on it. They always have great friendly service, have generous food servings, and have high quality menu items. Their atmosphere and decorations are very unique, with Hispanic knick-nacks and a fish tank. I would definitely recommend it for a casual dinner with the family or friends.

The best white flour fried tacos in existence. Burgers and tamales are great as well! Easily the best authentic Mexican joint in Manhattan.

A truly hidden gem in Manhattan. One of the best cheeseburgers in town can be found here along with crispy crinkle cut fries. For a treat - mix the ketchup with the home made green sauce to dip your fries in. The Taylor Special for the hungry person is a real meal. A personal favorite is the chicken tacos with white flour shell. Or while you're having the white flour tacos, try the fish taco. Another favorite of mine, possibly the best fish taco in town.

We love this place for the burgers! Friendly staff and excellent food. Best fries in Manhattan! Parking can be an issue; I think the pub next door is responsible for that.Parking: There is more parking in back. We have never not been able to park, but we do have to park in back sometimes.

Great burgers and they are not skimpy. My wife had the California burger and I had the Jalapeno Bacon Double Cheeseburger...I could have been fine with a single. Friendly local cafe.

I'm aware that this is a Mexican restaurant. But without reservation, the mushroom swiss burger was in the top 5 of best burgers I have ever had! Go and eat there. You will not be sorry!!!

It is hard not to like this little diner tucked into a forested area instead of being at an ugly intersection of two ugly suburban arteries. The interior is shockingly well-kept (see photo). The service is not just efficient but thoughtful. The hamburger I ordered was prepared by people who know how. My only two complaints are that the queso dip brought with my tortilla chips was microwave hot (burning your tongue isn't as much fun after the age of about 12) and the ordering is largely a la carte, and carte away your money they will. Still, the negatives are nitpicky, and I recommend it for a laid-back lunch.Parking: It's dusty, but it's available. Just pull up out front.

I started eating there in 2002, I was stationed at Ft Riley and they were in Ogden. I left there in 2007, they had moved to Manhattan by then. We finally went through that area again in 2021. I used to love the white flour chicken tacos. I finally had a white flour fish taco in 2021, again in 2022 and again when we passed through in early June 2023. They are still as good as ever. I only wish they had free chips and salsa. If you are starving, order the Taylor Special. That is a lot of food for one person to eat.
