Absolutely superb food and service. Our waitress came all the way from Vermont to study at KSU!

My wife and I came to Manhattan Kansas to celebrate our 16th anniversary. We ate two nights at Houlihan’s the first night. I had the 12 ounce steak and she had the Kansas City burger. Both items were very delicious juicy and filling. We got plenty for the money we spent. The steak needed no sauce. It was juicy done like I wanted it and it had great flavor. The second time we ate there I had the Kansas City burger and my wife had the Houlihans burger. We both enjoyed them very well. Special suggestion try the Parmesan garlic aïoli sauce with your fries. It is to die for.

Used to have a positive view of Houlihan's (Manhattan, KS) and have used it for personal as well as professional business dinners regularly; however, recently the service has been below standard. Food is usually decent, but service and the management has declined. We have experienced the service staff to be not attentive and very slow, even when the restaurant is not full or busy. I can look past that to some degree, but it becomes difficult when there are costumers waiting while the service staff are on their cell phone or standing around chatting. Or when asking another waiter/waitress for something and the response being - it is not my table, not my problem. Lately the restaurant staff and management have too often been defensive and confrontational instead of listening and offering reasonable explanations for wrong orders, long wait times, or questions or special instructions (business related) regarding the billing. While some of the staff have been polite and professional, our most recent experience was overwhelmingly the opposite and enough for us not to return or recommend this place to others.

Long time customer. Good food - not so good service. Servers tend to be inexperienced as do managers. You may or may not get what you ordered. Allow ample time - can be very slow service.

We have been to many Houlihan’s when they were in St.Louis where food and service were always fabulous, however they have since closed. We have missed the food especially the ‘shrooms! It is so great to find a Houlihan’s in another city where the experience and food haven’t changed all these years! Always good all the time and service was great to top off the great meal!

Slow Monday night. Seated immediately but almost left b/c after 15min we didn't have a server. Once they were there, service was great. The scallops were really good, moist and soft middle with a good seared top/bottom (not burnt). Risotto was bland w/ firm asparagus cut up and mixed in, rather than spears. I wasn't expecting it but perhaps I didn't completely read the description. I do love asparagus and risotto both. Really wish it had more flavor in itself. The arugula was a nice addition but the basil-infused olive oil resembles oil with balsamic. Interesting addition to the dish, certainly not for everyone. I'm still undecided. The white sangria is definitely sweet. My friend was quite pleased with her burger aside from the hotizontally crinkle cut pickles. Obviously, .a personal preference. Definitely worth the walk/ short drive but not something I would crave. Oh, there's a coupon in the things to do in Manhattan tourist packages!!

Went for my birthday dinner and literally experienced the worst service I have received at a restaurant in a long time. Apparently the staff assumed that it was ok to neglect the bikers. I promise you there was not an item on that menu I could not afford. My community is small and tight knit. I will be advising everyone I know to never frequent your establishment. Hopefully if someone else walks in looking like our group of 4 you do better next time.

For the price it should’ve been better. Got the nacho cheese app and it was watery and flavorless. The chicken Alfredo sauce was horrible. My husband says it tastes like mayo, but honestly, mayo would’ve tasted better. It was basically cream mixed with flour, with no Parmesan. Food took a lot longer than expected, even though there were only a few others dining at the time. Waitress kept disappearing, so it took longer than needed to get boxes and pay.

The tables were sticky, and the food was okay. Cheese was cold and watery, and the wings were very good. Dessert was not that great
This is a surprise because I love desserts. The staff was very nice and friendly.

Tried happy hour, but service was non-existent; 1st warm beer was happy- next ordered early, but delivered over half hour late was full price (& warm). Ordered burger, was FINALLY served a cold chicken wrap. Server didn't care- there was no management visible. We eat as a group-7- every 2 weeks, never be back. Used to be good and fun.

The reception area was unmanned, while 3 servers were huddled together, avoiding customer service. As a team, they failed to acknowledge and assist the customers. Do better...
