Parlour 1886 is an intimate, cozy restaurant that everyone needs to visit. The warm decor, soft lighting, and music sets the perfect mood and ambiance. Marion, KS is lucky to have such a spot. The food is excellent, as are the drinks. Brunch is also excellent! The staff are warm caring individuals. The husband and wife team who own and operate Parlour 1886 are a joy to visit with and make you feel as if you are old friends. The events and theme nights are also so fun to attend. The 1920's Speakeasy event is especially entertaining! If you are looking for an intimate setting for an evening out Parlour 1886 is the place to go!

I had to attend an online meeting and my husband did a quick search for a brunch place nearby. For some reason he keeps finding the best of places during our trip. I can totally recommend Parlour 1886 for the delicious breakfast/brunch they serve. The ambience is calming and the prices are very reasonable. I was told it opens very early …if you are an early riser. My little one felt like she was in a castle and she was the princess. If you are traveling or just want to try something different, mark this restaurant on your must go places. 10 out of 5 from me. ;)

We were visiting/ staying at the Elgin Hotel for our second time. Parlour 1886 is conveniently located in the hotel with street and hotel entrances. Our first time here was in Dec 2024. It was amazing then and is still pulling out all the stops for service and quality now. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. All had great info on the surrounding area and gave us great reasons for a repeat visit to the area. The food was tasty. For the first time in my life I was served hot waffles!! We had breakfast, brunch, and dinner there. Everytime we've been there it's packed. When we were there over the holidays there was live music. ❤ This is one classy place in a hidden gem of a town. Cant wait till I and my tastebuds get to visit again!!

Parlour 1886 won us over immediately with their decor, ambience, and European style. A small rural town in the middle of Kansas rarely has this kind of beautiful presentation! The staff was young but well coached. We split the salmon entree after salads and an appetizer. As you can tell from my name, I love salt, but the salad was too salty even for myself. Overall, we had high expectations for the meal that weren’t completely met. However, will very likely be back!

We did the 4 course dinner the squash soup was great, the pasts was fair at best the chicken fried steak was not very good at all, other reviews said it was great but not to me desert was a disappointment also. The flight of wines to pair with all of the entrées only the first one was OK. The rest of the wine did not complement the entrées, but I am no wine expert either but I do know what I like.

Had a wonderful anniversary dinner at this charming restaurant. The strip steak was cooked to perfection and the pasta bolognese was delicious. Our server was delightful. We were passing through on a road trip and didn’t expect such a refined restaurant in such a small town. Totally exceeded expectations. We’ll make a point to come back!

My wife and I was so happy with our experience at the Parlour. We received a gift certificate from our close friends in Cuchara, CO to make this happen. Making a reservation was super easy. The atmosphere was genuine! We were quickly seated. A waitress quickly entertained and waited on us. We got drinks and fried pickles first. Very good! Lisa got the chicken fried steak. Excellent. I had them 1886 burger. I have eaten a lot of burgers, but this may be the best I have had. Too much food for desert though. We will be back !

We recently moved to Marion. We made a reservation and ate a lovely, tasteful meal at the Parlour restaurant at the historic Elgin Hotel. We were in awe at the atmosphere, service, and especially the food. The service was impeccable. Our waitress checked on us at appropriate times and was friendly and positive. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will most definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely evening and welcoming us to this great community.

I was really excited to try this place, especially seeing all of the high reviews. My partner and I drove an hour to get here. The location was very cool, lovely inside. But the food was just not it.. We came for the strip steak, which they were out of (on a Friday night? and it was not busy inside). So I opted for the more expensive ribeye, and it was overcooked and very over-salted. I rarely complain about food but this was just very disappointing. The (I assume) manager spoke to every table there except for ours, and that kind of gave us an unwelcoming sort of vibe. Our server was nice, but never asked how our food was, and I felt awkward and uncomfortable to bring it up due to the atmosphere. I’m sure they would’ve fixed it, but really who wants to deal with that. I very much regret spending 60 dollars for a quality piece of meat that was not prepared well. I do not think the high prices overall were justified for the level of service and preparedness. I don’t think I would go back. Sorry to sound so negative! I think it is a cool place and I like the story behind it all, maybe it was just an off night. But even so….

We were here to celebrate our Anniversary and this has now become somewhere we can’t wait to come try again! This destination was definitely worth the trip and we will definitely be back!
