I had a good sit-down at the Sit Down. This was after I visited an all you can eat buffet. I grabbed a book, took a seat....did a little meditation...and let nature take its course. Sometimes I need a little help with my sit-down so I order a little something from the menu to help, get me moving in the right direction. I'm lactose intolerant so a milk shake does the trick. In general, dairy gives me problems so the egg bowl works too. My dog likes this place too. He does his sit-down out front. To be honest, he drags me there...he's more excited to go there than myself.

The owner and staff are very friendly. I forgot my wallet (embarrassing), and the owner gave me a free coffee. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I had the cinnamon roll on a previous visit, very good. I would definitely recommend this place!

This coffee shop is in a cool old house directly across from the historic Elgin Hotel. I had a Delicious hot egg and bacon sandwich and a plain latte. A perfect pair. 🥐 ☕️ Lots of private sitting areas. Friendly service and good prices.

We stopped in to get some iced coffee and left glad that we had! We met the owner and had a pleasant chat. She was so welcoming! The iced americanos hit the spot! We were so happy to find a coffee shop that was open after 1:00pm. We will be back!
I enjoyed The Sit Down cafe several times over a recent weekend. Loved the comfortable decor and the fact that it’s located in an old house literally across the street from the Historic Elgin Hotel, so only a very short walk away. Shelves of books to read if you’re so inclined. Good food and drinks and eager-to-please staff. A great place to hang out for an hour or two!
