This was the 3rd show I've been to at this venue in the last year and there is always an issue. The drinks are cold and the bar tenders great. One time the headliner was almost 2 hrs late. Next time the air conditioner and fans weren't working. This time the electrical system was screwed up and we were stick w a 5 song acoustical set. Very disappointed. This venue need to get it together.

VERY LITTLE parking & surrounded by lots that threaten a tow. $3 for can of Coke. Seriously? This is a venue that allows underage kids in. I have an idea for ya. Charge a price that isn't ridiculous and they might buy some.

I've been to this venue enough in the last six years to confidently say that if they didn't have some great bands playing on a regular basis, I would never go here. The quality of service is incredibly poor. You would be lucky to get a smile or any level of friendliness from the staff. The bartenders seem annoyed when you ask them a question or need help with something. It's pretty much the same with the rest of the staff. The drink prices are exorbitant. $5-$7 for a well drink. $9 for a small Long Island. $7 or $8 for bombs. These prices would be fair at a different establishment, but at a dive bar with no table service, served in tiny cups with hardly any alcohol in them, it is ridiculous. They also do not serve cups of water, so make sure you have $2 ready for a bottle of water when you need to hydrate. The food here is your typical dive bar offerings - very basic, but, once again, a little pricey for the quality. It's a cash bar only, so either come prepared or be ready to pay the $3.25 ATM service fee each time you have to run over to it to withdraw some more money after burning through a $20 bill on two overpriced drinks plus tip. Go for the live music, but avoid the pricey drinks and food.

This venue has become jabroni central. First off, a couple months ago at a show, there was a fight involving multiple people and the ONLY person they kicked out was the ONLY black person fighting. That's not fair. Second.. last night I ordered a shot of their well vodka & asked for a cup of water with it. They said I needed to be in a band to get a cup of water & that I could buy a 16 oz bottle of water for $2. The well vodka was $5 for a shot too lol.. so I said never mind to buying anything at all because that's too high to not get any free WATER. They must be hurting for money. Here's a suggestion: stop being jabronis.

I'm new to the Kansas City area, and although it isn't perfect or updated, it's dark, has good drink specials, and every one of their employees are awesome. Aftershock is where I would love to see all my favorite bands. I'm big into the live music scene and it's big enough to fit a crowd, but smaller than a huge venue. The parking does suck because if you don't get a close parking spot you'll have to walk in the dark... BUT everyone going to rock and metal shows are always nice and look out for one another... (mostly). I forgot my ID one time and I would of had to dive 30 mins back home to get it and they just upcharged me (as a minor) to get in. I also like that some rock shows are guided towards the younger crowd, and they allow under 21 to get in with of course the upcharge. They are also always very responsive on their facebook page. They actually really care about the local artists also. I love this place!

Liked this place a little more when it was open consistently but it is still awesome for small, intimate, live shows. Saw CKY and Mad Libby there and the show was fantastic. Decent booze prices, old school atmosphere.

I had a great time at Randy and Mr Lahey, but this place sucks. If you do not get there super early, you will not find a place to park. It is dirty and run down.

Great drinks and bands

Great live music venue. Super friendly bar staff. Good food and drinks priced fairly. The place is locally owned and has grown and improved over the years.

Remember that bar in Pee Wees big adventure, the one with the bikers? Well this is that place, except worse... Let's start with the bar itself, everything is outdated, the porch outside is leaving downhill, and held together with rotting 2x4's, while underneath, and all over garbage just hangs out, with overfilled ashtrays. On the inside lots of dead space, outdated beer advertisements everywhere, poorly air conditioned with small hanging fans, not a whole lot of places to sit except nasty booths, and the occasional couch. Everything is poorly lit, and nobody seems to clean up spilt drinks, or old food. Trash cans are allowed to overflow onto the floor, and their bathrooms reek of, urine, and p*** from ten plus feet away. The staff looks beat up, the bartenders are nice, but older, and not dressed well, the bouncers are old biker dudes, one of them put my friend in a headlock, and proceeded to drag him out, after he was pushed over in a mosh pit, and their sound guy is awful, get someone else. I feel like I wasted $15 for a ticket, I will never step foot in this place ever again, let alone want to drive by it, I'm honestly surprised they get the acts they do, because this place is a hole in the wall, only upside is drinks are cheap, although their served in 7oz danty plastic cups. Spend your money elsewhere, this place is a joke, I don't know how it's still open...
