I agree with the other reviewers that this restaurant provides a unique Mexican food experience. The food, service, and then decor were all excellent.

I ordered takeout. That went very smoothly. When I got it home, I discovered my meal somehow the cheese had come out of the one containers and it was all over everything else in the bag. As far as I am concerned, it was not packed very well. I found the food was so so, nothing special. I had been excited to try this since I had heard it was very good. This was just my experience.

Great addition to dining out in Mission!! Definitely a favorite!Parking: They will need to mark parking spots for take out - they will always be busy! Can’t wait for an outdoor patio!!
Service-5/5 Food-4/5 Atmosphere-4.5/5 Our first time here and it was tasty! I got the prickly pear margarita and it was very tasty! I also ordered the shrimp quesadillas and I was surprised by the amount of shrimp. I often feel like shrimp quesadillas don't have a good amount of shrimp but this one definitely does! It is smothered in cheese and filled with cheese so it's a bit of a cheese! Our server was super nice and attentive. I want to go back here and try their queso for sure

We really enjoyed Campesino! Nice spacious atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. Also a good amount of TVs if you’d like to watch a game here. Two thumbs up on the food too! I had a couple of shrimp tacos. I’d love the addition of a crema with them but that’s just me. Good flavor though and the shrimp were cooked well. My wife enjoyed her food as well and we both loved our cocktails. Definitely recommend!

Stopped in for dinner to try a new place. Upon first impressions the service was very diligent. We got chips and salsa, not much flavor or spice to salsa. I ordered tacos dorado. All the tacos were broken on the bottom and only had 2 small piece's of chicken in each taco. The chicken was also over cooked and tough, both pieces. My wife got the chicken sopes. The chicken was tender and delicious. The sopes were like rawhide. We got a chicken California burrito for our son and it was actually beef when we got home. He doesn’t eat beef.

We were excited to try a new local restaurant, but unfortunately were underwhelmed. The margarita flight all tasted the same with little to no alcohol. Our dinners, enchiladas and sopes, were bland and lacked flavor. I have to say I wish Strouds had stayed.

The service was great and the food hit the spot. Got the fajitas which reminded me of chili’s when I was a kid and a tall beer that was huge. I’ll be coming back for sure.

Campesino is in a great spot in the Mission shopping district. This is the location where Strouds previously was. Clearly, they put a lot of money into the remodel of this restaurant. The bar is very ornate for a neighborhood Mexican joint in a good way and the tables/chairs are all padded and comfortable. I got the lunch special (fajita burrito) for $11 which i find to be a good lunch value. The regularly priced menu did not seem much more expensive. It seemed reasonable that a family of 4 could eat dinner for $50 with no drinks. Hope they stay.

This is the best Mexican restaurant We’ve eaten at in a long time. Absolutely delicious and, as much as I know about it… Authentic!I think we’re going to love this place.
