Filling Station Coffee I Johnson Drive

Another great find while working the KC area. Got a lavender and Honey iced latte that was divine and a super soft donut with sprinkles. Barista was super nice and the atmosphere is great, will definitely make it a point to stop here again! Can’t wait till the weather cools off and they open the garage doors!

Filling Station on Johnson Drive has been a constant for me since they opened. While staff changes, a pandemic, and being bought by FairWave has changed the café a lot over the years, it continues to be a calm and unique atmosphere to meet for coffee or study. I've had many positive experiences with staff, and almost always received very good coffee and food. My only recent complaint is the pricing, but it's expected as prices go up everywhere.

Sydney is extremely rude. Her attitude & demeanor is very uninviting. I kindly asked her to clarify my total only because it seemed a little higher than I anticipated for a latte & she was impatient & extremely condescending. She actually never answered my question. After that short interaction I decided I did not want to spend my money there, I told her my experience felt cold & i left. She was unphased. When I got back in my car I realized she didn’t greet me or the gentleman that walked in behind me. She didn’t smile once & just seemed miserable. I patiently waited quite awhile at the register before ordering while she made drinks, which was totally fine because she was the only one working, but she never acknowledge me or said hey, I’ll be right with you . It was a very uncomfortable experience. I’ve never felt invited the times I’ve come, always feels blah, but I decided to give it another shot & I wish I hadn’t. There’s so many other coffee shops in KC with incredible & kind baristas and I’ll go there gladly over this place with unprofessional staff who do not show care or kindness to customers.
