Aoyama Ramen is My New Go-To!

My wife and I finally made it to Aoyama Ramen in Olathe, and wow, we were so impressed! The service was excellent—super friendly and quick, which we really appreciated.

We started with the crispy gyoza, which were perfect. Then for the main event: I had the creamy Tonkotsu, and my wife went with the savory Shoyu. Both bowls were absolutely packed with flavor. That chashu pork? So freaking good. The place kicks k-pots butt.

We left full, happy, and already planning our next trip back. If you're in the Olathe area and love ramen, you've got to check them out. You won't regret it! #AoyamaRamen #OlatheEats #RamenLove #DateNight

Cozy, laid back place to get some tummy-huggin' ramen. Service is awesome and quick. I like the karaage chicken and spicy tonkatsu ramen with extra hot sauce. I could inhale the eggs by the dozen, too. I love that my kids can get just plain noodles and broth. We can all eat and be merry!

Ordered via doordash. The food was soooo good. I had the spicy tonkatsu ramen, bang bang shrimp, and a pork bun. Would highly recommend.

Food was excellent and extremely fast. My husband dropped his chopsticks at one point and we didn't think anyone had even seen it but then the waitress came and gave him another pair of chopsticks without being asked. We will definitely return.

Aoyama Ramen is an amazing small Japanese inspired ramen house located on the west side of 119th street in Olathe, Kansas. The Ramen is fire, but you MUST try the crab Onigiri. Soooooooo good! It's definitely what keeps us going back! They also have crispy pork and sweet corn versions as well, but the crab... Mmmm... again so good! If you read this and end up going. Tell them The Damian sent ya!

I had the sukiyaki and the portion of meat for the price seemed sparse. The ramen was ok. The chicken karage comes drenched in sauce and would be better if the sauce was served on the side.

Order to plate time was quick The service was excellent.

Parking: Parking in front of the place can be sparse but the parking lot overall is sufficient.

Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance is ADA compliant and so are the tables.

Honestly, not sure why this place has so many high marks, it's a total ripoff.

Potstickers? Obviously the frozen kind from the international market. Pork buns? Again, you can tell they were frozen and had the texture of a used sponge. And something in my classic ramen must've had a preservative or chemical in it, because my whole mouth & tongue swelled up with 2 bites.

Nearly $15 for the amount of "food" they give you with the ramen is laughable. Looked like a bunch of gen-z hipsters ran the place and everyone just glares at you when you walk in. Unsavory people and terrible/overpriced food.

Will never return.

This place hates solo diners. Twice I came to eat alone, the first time I was given a table but severely rushed through every stage of the meal to try and clear it even though there weren't any people waiting for the table. The second time I was only offered a bar seat even though there were tables available and was told they were for reservations, then the staff proceeded to seat two people who just walked in at a 6 person table. The bar stools are uncomfortable and put you right in the way of all the steam coming from the cooking area. Staff is incredibly cold and impatient if you're dining alone and just wants you go GTFO. Unfortunate because the food is good.

Super tasty little ramen shop hidden in the Olathe Pointe shops. I got the rich garlic ramen, which was delicious. Super cool vide inside as well, I love the Godzilla eating ramen logo.

Only reason I limit my rating to 4 stars is due to the chashu/pork belly being a little tough, which is quite unusual for ramen shops. Either way, I would definitely eat here again!

You know the old saying about how you can't get something of high quality quickly and inexpensively? How you have to choose two? Forget what you've heard. Aoyama delivers amazing food almost alarmingly fast and for a very reasonable price. Great service and fun atmosphere, too. I'm already a regular.

I had been excited to try this restaurant for quite some time and expected it to be great from all the rave reviews. So having a rare day off with our kid, we decided to give it a go.
Upon entering we were greeted apathetically and asked to sit wherever. After a couple of minutes the other worker approached our table and bruskly asked if we were ready or not. We quickly ordered an appetizer and a ramen each feeling awkward and a little uncomfortable from the interaction. The worker walked back to the front of house/bar area near the register, put our order in and immediately hopped back on their phone.
As we waited for for food, we noted that the restaurant it self was very clean and had sort of a cool modern vibe to it, we really liked reading the sticky notes lining the restaurant from previous customers. However, the loud metal music playing throughout the restaurant, while a great choice for personal listening, created a dissonance that only added to the awkwardness. When our food was ready, the worker dropped it off and said "Here," and sauntered back to their phone. The food was hot, delicious and rich, the noodles were chewy, bouncy, and fresh, and we liked it overall. Not once while we ate were we graced with the presence of our two hosts, except to drop off the check.
TL;DR Food is banging, customer service is crap, atmosphere is awkward.
