Our waitress was helpful being our first time, I informed what I'd like to have and she gave great suggestions. The menu is a newspaper given when seated which is different yet neat germ wise. Our food arrived 15mins after ordering which was well prepared and plated. The Black Bear Dinner was recommended for breakfast and the Black Bear Dinner was right on time serving breakfast, lunch and dinner from open to close with a few exceptions.

Breakfast while on a business trip.
Not only was this cute diner blissfully quiet but the waiter was delightful, kind, helpful, and attentive. Best veggie omelet I've ever had. Huge biscuit with yummy gravy. So many potatoes! Coffee with flavored creamers was an excellent bonus. I really loved this diner. Highly recommended for breakfast.

Kind of like a more friendly, more welcoming Cracker Barrel. Expansive menu and good food. Service is good. The interior seems a little aged, but I like this restaurant. I recommend.

What a fun place to go to . Went and got breakfast for dinner . It was great ! Pancakes were very good and hot , and omg I had the best bowl of grits in a very long time . Made perfectly with lots of melted butter. Made the southern way creamy and smooth no lumps .
The place was clean the wait staff friendly and attentive and cute pics of bears everywhere with a small gift shop.
Reminds me of a place in Gatlinburg ,TN .
Will go back to try other items !

Bland food. Scrambled eggs were more like paper sheets that tasted like nothing. Burnt sausage patties that tasted like burnt chorizo & pancakes that were mid at best. First and only time there/ will not return.

The food is always good. We have been here probably half a dozen times or more. I always make it a habit to leave reviews after a few visits. Only 1 time did we get a waitress that got our drinks, order, and food in a timely manner. Every single other time it took around 15 minutes just to get a drink order in. My wife and I always split a plate because they have huge portions (not a bad thing), and it always take 10 minutes or more to get an extra plate or extra condiments. All different wait staff.

Went Thanksgiving as an alternative to Cracker Barrel. Was EXTREMELY pleasantly surprised. We were immediately seated, they had holiday menu and the quality of the food was as good if not better than the competitor. Service was outstanding, especially for a holiday crowd, and the pies were wonderful!

The atmosphere is clean but very outdated. Depending on your preference, it could have a homey feel. Personally, I love “homey” (such as Cracker Barrel or Red Lobster) but this isn’t quaint/small enough to feel that way. It just feels more nursing-homey. That said, the food is fantastic and huge portions at McDonald’s prices. Their “Grizzly” meal tops out at 3,054 calories and costs $15. Some might find that disgusting; I find it patriotic. Haha! Server was also great; delightfully typical of this kind of breakfast place (think kind, down to earth, IHOP/Denny’s type waitress). Would definitely visit again and enjoy doing so, but I don’t want to misrepresent the aesthetics.
