80.00 for 24 medium cupcakes for children's birthday party. Asked for a different assortment took look nice for display. half dumped over in the box. There were 4 varying shades of brown one box only had 2 varieties. I literally had to go to Walmart and buy 12 more , and theirs tasted better. So disappointed. I paid 6.00 for a.dozen compared to their 40.00 I expected them to look, and more importantly TASTE better than that. Never again. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY at this bakery. Frosting tastes like canned. Gross

Last month my daughter turned 6 years old. We reached out to Small Cakes about doing another cake for us because they did a pretty good job on her 5th birthday cake. I repeatedly called them asking if they received our email about an order. I was told yes. Multiple times. I was told they would be in touch with the individual who prices each order. When I didn't receive an email back from this individual I called again and asked about our order. They informed me that they received it and would get back to me. Because it was close to the day and they have a certain amount a days the order has to be in I wanted to make sure things were getting to who they needed to get to. I asked if we would have something to pick up the day of the party, I was told yes. I was a little worried but this is about how things went the prior year and we had a cake. We get to Sunday my husband went to pick up my daughter's miraculous ladybug cake with my daughter and there's nothing!!! No cake, no cup cakes. They said they never confirmed the order. Giving a price means the order is confirmed. I totally understand that policy, if I was told that to begin with no problem. If I missed it on the website, that's my fault. But when you tell someone they will most definitely have something to pick up Sunday the day of the party, they're going to believe it. The worst part about this, is when my husband put the person in the store on the phone she was laughing. It was very unprofessional, I let her know that it wasn't funny at all. We ordered a cake and cupcakes because of the experience we had the prior year. Now I will never order anything from them . They offered us cupcakes in the case for purchase. Didn't try to fix the situation at all or offer any empathy. The person in store was not a professional and whoever keeps up with the emails and answers the phone lack professionalism as well. It's a sad situation because they did such a great job the year before and as a Head Coach for UMKC I always pass along good experiences to other coaches and programs in the community. That will not be the case with Smallcakes. And I get they don't need my business, but you should treat customers better than this.

I asked Smallcakes Olathe to make a gender reveal cake that we could smash for our toddlers party. We paid over $50 for this cake even though their website states that a 4” cake is $30. I went ahead and paid for them to make it as I did not want to make my own gender reveal cake. We then brought them the sonogram and left it with them until picking up the cake. Come party and cake time they literally did not put any color on the inside for the gender reveal at all. Very disappointing and really ruined the party. I reached out to them regarding this issue and I’ve just been ignored. I definitely will not trust them to make anything for me in the future.

I tried the Caramel Pumpkin cupcake today. It was very moist, delicious and hit the spot. Easily the best of the Fall cupcakes I've had so far.

We had custom Doc Mcstuffins cake made for my daughter birthday, we all super excited to how it turn and let me tell you it turn out super cute and love all the details, also the cake was delicious and everyone at her birthday party just was so in love it how turn out and how delicious it was. Bri was very easy to work with, very kind m, friendly and very professional to work with it! I would recommend small cakes to anyone! LOVE LOVE LOVE my cake!! This was my birthday present from my husband and it came out more than perfect. I had given a few example photos and she listened to my design ideas, colors, and flavor combos. I was so over the moon with how this turned out and can't recommend them enough. I had four cake for my bday celebration week (unintentionally) and this was my favorite. I was so happy she was able to make my fav cupcake flavor of theirs (chocolate cream/hostess cupcake) into a full cake. Thank you for making my cake dream come true! I've been bragging non-stop and it make my day so special.

Ordered 6 cupcakes for a birthday celebration and was very disappointed. When I picked up the cupcakes, I asked if they had been baked fresh to order that day (7/26/23). They responded yes. Unfortunately, the cupcakes didn't taste freshly baked. I will admit they did look nice, but the frosting is heavy and doesn't taste good. Also, the strawberry cupcake doesn't actually have strawberry slices as advertised on the website. As you can see in my photo, it's just a grocery store standard cupcake with sprinkles. And it tasted like a grocery store bakery cupcake. I had high hopes for these wonderful sounding flavors, but there was nothing signature about these Smallcakes. Such a waste of money.

Went to small cakes for an idea of a gender reveal for my fiancé and I very un-patient selfs and I didn’t get her name but she had blue hair and was so sweet to us and had it ready for us right away. They were so beautiful she also made it a very exciting experience for us! Thank you again!!
Smallcakes did a personalized Birthday cake for my best friend and partner, and it turned out amazing!!!I had several themes going on: golf, Disney, Chiefs and the Earth that represented travel. But the designer nailed it along with getting a happy birthday on there with a small additional saying. I was soo surprised and happy about it!! Loved it!! And it was designed in pink and turned out amazing ?! Couldn't be happier!

We took a road trip to visit Lego land for our youngest 4th birthday… I wanted something special for her, I google and this was the 1st place to get cupcakes from.. I read all review and it was a hit and miss so I decided to order.. I order a birthday and red velvet cupcake online. Order was going to ready at 100 we didn’t pick up til about 4 or so when we got there I was greeted with smiles she was taking care of someone, once she finish she asked how can she help told her my name, they didn’t have the order so I showed her she gave me two right out the showcase and apologize.. the price was great as well $4.50 each Needless to say the cupcake was really good nice and moist.. the icing was sweet.. over all I had a great experience..

My boyfriend and I did gender reveal cupcakes here. The cupcakes were delicious and there were a lot of options. The guy behind the counter was a little awkward but was helpful. The only problem is that the cupcake literally fell apart when I took off the wrapper and took the moment away.

This was our first time in this place!!We were rushed and not greeted. She is not knowledgeable on the products, we told her this is our first time, I wish she took a time and explained what her favorite and why. I understand I am old fashion which customer service it means a lot to me. Am I going to give another chance, of course I will but not buying peanut butter chocolate frosting or cream cheese ( it's different than nothing Bundt cake ) I feel this place is too reach for my taste.
