The Big Biscuit Reviews
I enter the Big Biscuit at Sante Fe & Murlen in Olathe at 10:10 this morning. Looking forward to a pancake and orange juice. The host seated me immediately. I waited patiently to be served. At 10:40 I left. Not so much as a hello from any of the staff. I passed the host and explained why I was leaving. I told the same to a manager that was holding the door. My homemade baloney sandwich just did not satisfy pancake desire.
We ate the Murlen location on 12.7.24 at approximately 1230-1pm. The Host was a fluffy haired light complected younger guy who was awkward and flighty. The restaurant had 5-6 tables with people at them. There is trash and garbage on the floor. Nothing is swept, but the table tops appear to be clean. My wife and I, on our way to a wedding (were dressed very nicely), stop for breakfast. We're seated at a filthy table with crumbs, grease, gravy, and syrup all over it. The Big Biscuit is a popular spot for brunch, especially on weekdays to avoid the crowds. The biscuits and gravy are a must-try, with the option to get a half portion. The poached eggs are cooked perfectly as well. The restaurant offers large servings, such as huge chocolate chip pancakes with their own butter reservoir and cinnamon roll pancakes that are said to taste better than Cinnabon. The peach Palmer drink is also highly recommended. Customers often leave with leftovers that could feed a small army. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the place is kept clean. The staff is friendly and helpful, with servers like KayLene and Sam providing friendly and efficient service. One visit was made particularly memorable by the genuine care of the staff, who checked on guests and engaged with them in a warm way. Overall, The Big Biscuit provides great food and a welcoming environment that encourages repeat visits.
