Great service and options

Incredibly delicious coffee and great service. Super cozy inside and good size patio. My puppy though, was a little bummed that they don't offer any pup cups. 😕

I have been going to Bear Necessities for over a year, 1-3 times a week, so it's safe to say I love their coffee. However, I have many things to review so take it for what it's worth as my personal rating for this coffee shop would be a 8.7/10, coffee itself would be a 9.5/10 depending on who is making it. (See below for further details)

Cleanliness depends on who is working. Average day: 7/10 - Certain Baristas seem to be a lot cleaner than others, which if they are working, then I would raise to a 8.5/10.

Food (only tried pastries, not their burritos): 6.5/10
Availability of food/drinks/utensils: 7.5/10 - Tend to be out of certain items semi-regularly, such as cup sleeves and/or specific milk options.

Indoor seating: 6.5/10 - Not the most comfortable seats and had a decrepit/broken couch for many months.
Outdoor seating: 2.5/10 (its disgusting but may not belong to Bear Necessities, however it's still in front of their shop)

Safety: 6.5/10 - Shelves in the way, chairs in the way, rolled carpet (tripping hazard, been there since we started going)

Bathrooms: 8/10 - Not the greatest but at least they are clean for the most part, also never been out of hygienic goods.

Final thoughts:
I rate the way I do but it comes from a place of love. I will continue to go here to get my coffee and still complain about the issues. All in all, get your coffee here as it's one of the best around. Just don't mind the mess and dying plants. ;)

A true treasure tucked away in Overland Park! The drinks here are not just delicious but also crafted with such care, and the owner and staff absolutely knocked our recent event out of the park. We received nothing but compliments on where we decided to host it. With its warm and inviting ambiance, this coffee bar is perfect for both a quick coffee run and a leisurely afternoon working or catching up with a friend. What truly stands out is the staff; everyone I've encountered is beyond friendly and makes you feel right at home. The ample parking is a welcome convenience, making it easy to pop in whenever. For coffee aficionados and those just seeking a cozy spot, this place hits all the right notes. Don't hesitate to visit—you won't be disappointed!

Wonderful house made syrups—orange cardamom is my favorite when they have it. Also amazing pastries! Convenient location by the library and great staff.

Cozy little coffee shop that uses Huckleberry roasters beans. You can buy bags here as well for cheaper than you can buy them online from Huck since there is no shipping charge.

Nice relaxing atmosphere. The young man working this morning (3-28-25) was very friendly and welcomed me with a smile.

I ordered the small, plain hot latte, and it exceeded my expectations. 5 stars!

I went there for an open mic event and found the straight forward coziness of the place to be charming without breaching one’s need for their own space. The owner was very nice and served our drinks up without drawing attention away from the performances. Would go back there in a city or country minute.

The homemade chai? Excuse me? That is freaking delicious, and please never stop making that spicy deliciousness!

Fabulous coffee and baked goods.

I went a few months ago with my bf. We were waiting for his appointment when we popped in. He and I both got the Chai., his hot with espresso, mine iced with espresso. We also got come baked goods of the day. Delish. Now, I just need to call and see if they sell the chai for home use bc we are 3 hrs away.
