It was actually awkward to experience the way the manager treated the employees. He literally yelled across the room at the bartender for no identifiable reason. Sometimes it’s watching the way someone treats others that ruins a nice time more than anything. It really is a nice place with good food and great service hopefully this part of the place can change. Appears mine isn’t the first review that involves the manager so hopefully they will fix this issue.”

Despite the ongoing Farmer’s Market construction in the area, this charming family-owned Italian gem truly shines. The warm, welcoming intimate dine in atmosphere and attentive service make you feel right at home. The catering was no different, she helped me plan a variety of entrees to be served buffet style for a group of 30 (mostly men) and executed it beautifully with leftovers. Their authentic dishes, with rich yet perfectly balanced, flavorful pastas and sauces, are crafted with fresh ingredients and love. Don’t let the construction deter you—this hidden treasure is ABSOLUTELY worth the visit. Supporting local businesses like this keeps the heart of our community alive. We got the Hummus as a appetizer, which came out so fast, and not only was it delicious but the presentation was beautiful. You can definitely tell and taste the love and care that was prepared with the food. For our entrees, I got the Chicken Shawarma and my Husband got the Gyro Plate and the rice and meat was wonderfully seasoned. For dessert we tried the Pistachio Baklava and it was perfection. The entire experience from the moment we walked in was such a treat. We will definitely be back.”

“I think I saw an ad for Yafa Cafe on Facebook. We are always searching for good Mediterranean food, it's hard to find in Kansas City. Seeing Kibbeh on the menu automatically moved them to the top on the list. We really enjoyed our meals and appetizers! The kibbeh was good, the spanakopia was good. All of our meals were good. I really enjoyed the creamy chicken plate. The chicken shawarma was good. Everyone liked the kabobs (chicken and beef). We will definitely be back! The owner and employees were very nice and helpful. Highly recommend!”

You have to try the crab wontons—they’re a must! We just had the Tokyo crispy chicken, and it was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Honestly, I haven’t had a single thing here that I didn’t love. Chris, the owner, always greets us with a warm smile, and he and his staff make you feel truly welcome every time. Exceptional food, outstanding service, and such a friendly atmosphere—Saki is hands down our favorite spot!”

“Words can not describe how cool and authentic this place truly is… I’m only 20 years old but in my short life (living in Overland Park) never have I had such a genuinely unique experience at a restaurant in town. I immediately was taken away by how amazing the scenery was when you walk in, everything from the posters on the wall to the memorabilia on the shelf’s has a story behind it. Perhaps the most interesting thing about the place is the bike on the counter along the back side of restaurant. I wish I could tell you the story behind it but if I did it wouldn’t give you a reason to come here, so for that reason, I’ll let you hear it for yourself in person. The story teller behind it all is the owner, Bill. I had a chance to meet Bill briefly after me and my buddies finished up our meals and holy cow I’m glad I was able to meet him. He is an amazingly interesting guy and easy to talk to. If you ever have a chance to say hi to him while you are in there I highly suggest you do so. Even with all these cool stories, there is still something about this place that people need to experience for themselves… the food! The selections are simple yet amazing looking. My experience with the spicy ramen was fantastic and it was presented exactly how I had imagined it. The flavor was as authentic as it gets for ramen (to my knowledge) and the spice level was very reasonable. I also got the squid balls, which I was hesitant at first to eat (because of the name) but trust me they are amazing! With all this being said, that was only my first time being there. We were quickly waited on by a friendly and efficient waitress. There were 6 women working this shift and all were in top form. Even the 2 cooks were women and that was a new thing to see at WH. The food arrived cooked perfectly and exactly as ordered. Everything was tasty and enjoyable. This is one of the best WH in the area with one of the best teams I've seen working. Great teamwork ladies! You all did a remarkable job handling a full house like pros. You are all hard workers and should be commended AND rewarded accordingly. I'll be back to your WH, for sure.”

It gets you out of your typical neighborhood to go try new places and when they have curated a selective menu it makes it easier to pick and choose to try new food items! This 100% needs to be on everyone’s list of places to go try! I seriously cannot say enough how amazing the food was and what’s even better it ranges from literal zero spice to insane Thai spice (I was a medium spice) trust me when I say that was plenty for me but my husband started out with a medium but he says when we go back he’s going up one more level (still not Thai level spice) just to see the difference because his red curry was delicious it just built slower for him but My chicken pad Thai was just right. Right now is the time to go try these wonderful people out with it being restaurant week to make the choices easier!”

We switched to this meal prep place after getting tired of paying so much for small portions from a competitor company who's food was so bland. I am so glad we made the switch. My wife has a gluten allergy and can get very sick from even minor cross-contamination. Finding a restaurant that takes her allergy seriously is truly a godsend. She was even able to enjoy crab rangoon for the first time!

The food is good but at a premium price for what it is. We tried 3 dishes beef and vegetables, triple delight and pad Thai. The first two were 8 out of 10, hot fresh and delicious. However, truly some of the worst pad Thai I've had. The flavor was fine but the texture resembled mush. Normally you can definitively see the noodles. This was lumpy, mushy and wasn't good. Would go back for any item other than the pad Thai. Plenty of parking, relaxing environment.”

“We had a fantastic experience at Don Chuy’s on Saturday night (6/28/25). Their APC Del Mar is out of this world and has already become my absolute favorite dish. The margaritas are huge and the presentation of drinks and the food was top-notch. And being there on their grand opening weekend, if you took time to pay close attention, you could really see how hard the wait staff, bartenders and Manager were working to try to make it a great night for everyone. If I had one suggestion I think it would be to remove the Romanesque busts from the bar and the large lion in the back bar area. The place is so beautifully decorated just the way it is, it truly does not need the additional adornment with those items. Overall, I think it would be a great place, hands down, for a celebration, but it’s also perfect for a date night dinner. I’ve already been back twice and I’ll be hard-pressed not to make it a weekly stop, for awhile anyway. Thank you everyone at Don Chuy’s for making it such a delicious and fun experience!”
