“I've loved Winsteads since I was little! Best grilled cheese around, great tater tots, always great basic salad, great shakes. They have burgers but I always get the grilled cheese. They also have a drive thru. There are only 2 locations next sadly. This one looks run down now but it's still totally worth it. Great prices, too.“

“I came to Denny's by myself after I worked a 10-hour shift at the hospital I really enjoyed your food it's always hot very appetizing and a great price for me your staff was great like always your manager on duty was a lady she went around to every table and gave them coffee and asked how everything was. “Just ate at Waldo Cafe for the first time on a “busy” Monday Memorial Day Holiday. Henri had the staff all working in unison, from the front desk, to taking orders, keeping our drinks full, to the delicious breakfast food. It was a pleasure to see everyone working as a team, something many places lack today. The customer service was also exceptional, every staff member had a smile on their face, and genuinely made you feel special..!“

“We’ve been wanting to come here since we moved to Kansas City three years ago. Today was the day. We had a little staycation downtown and skipped the hotel breakfast to come here. The City Diner is outstanding! They definitely have their locals and regular customers, but we’re also welcoming to us as first timers.

Our waitress was jovial and courteous, and answered all of our silly questions.

My wife had a half order of biscuits and gravy.

I had a double cheeseburger, which was enormous. Those patties are no joke. I would get a single next time. Thankfully, it did not come with fries or tots as that would’ve been entirely too much food. I could hardly finish it, and I was ravenous.

We want to come back and try other things here. It will not take a long time before we return. My wife loved her biscuits and gravy, and she is from the south. The biscuits were pillowy, soft and flaky.

We have found our divvy diner that we love. The City Diner opened in 1937. One taste of their food and you’ll know why they’ve been around almost 90 years.“
