Atmosphere: modern. I like how it's incorporated into the Nerman Museum! Food: they have daily specials, which I really enjoy because it's something different and prepared. Service: I believe culinary students work here, so the service is slow.

I cannot believe I have not been to this place sooner. Spread the word, this place is OUTSTANDING! It is huge with seating inside the cafe and in the main hall. Everything is crisp and clean with simple decor. You are greeted warmly as you walk in. Everything is made by culinary students so not only are you getting great food and service you are helping students expand their skills. We came for breakfast. We had three drinks, oatmeal, a sandwich and a pastry for $18. That is a steal for homemade food and great coffee. They serve Roasterie coffee (decaf and 3 other blends). They have skim milk, 2% and soy. The soy is vanilla soy so it is delicious in a cappuccino. Their iced coffee is potent and smooth. They have a sandwich, quiche, toast, oatmeal and pastries available. A simple menu to please all. My daughter had a croissant, she is in her third year of French and said they were made right and buttery inside, more so than usual but the way she likes it. I had the oatmeal and added fresh fruit. The oatmeal was great, not mushy at all and the fruit was diced (blueberries, strawberries and apple), brown sugar was served on the side. The show stopper was the breakfast biscuit. A large, flatter than usual flakey and crispy biscuit. Inside was egg, cheese, ham and berry jalapeno jam. Incredible melody of flavors and not at all spicy, just a little kick to tame the sweetness of the jam. Also served with a side of strawberries and blueberries. Service is top notch, they are friendly and chatty. Can't wait to try lunch! It is sometimes hard to find a spot to park because after all it is still a college campus but they do have 30 minute parking outside of the museum where the cafe is located.

Gorgeous décor! This is a beautiful, soothing, relaxing place to have lunch EXCEPT that what I ordered wasn't good. But I love the atmosphere so much, that I'll return and try different food. The special entree of the day, an Udon noodle bowl, was so boring and bland. I added salt, pepper, and Tabasco sauce but it still wasn't enough. More veggies and some protein, like tofu or chicken in my opinion, would have really helped. It was only $7.95, so at least I didn't pay a lot for mediocre food.

It's hidden in the open. This gem is tucked into a corner of Overland Park and it is exquisite! You will find Cafe Tempo in the Regnier Center of Johnson County Community College. However you get there- just get there because it's a wonderful. There is no table service at Cafe Tempo. You go through a line and order from their menu. There are different specials depending on the day of the week. While the menu evolves, they have a core selection that stays on the menu. You can see the food being prepared so don't be afraid when you see the small cooking torch at work. The drinks are self serve and there seems to be a very good selection. You are buzzed when your order is ready. There is outdoor seating so that makes it very nice. You are responsible for putting up your trays and dishes upon finish. Believe me, every thing is worth it because the food is extra yummy. I love their sunflower salad and multi cheese grilled cheese. The food is mostly soups, sandwiches and salads. This cafe is a partnership with JCCC culinary school and they do it right. These are not ordinary soups, sandwiches and salads. They are gourmet crafted and all made from scratch.even the potato chips are hand made. The prices are very reasonable. The Cafe has limited hours and is open for breakfast and lunch. It's an amazing place to eat and an experience you won't soon forget.

It's such a treat to have this cafe in the college. The prices are really great for the quality and I am never disappointed by the specials. It's a very friendly and relaxing environment, although it can be busy during lunch! Love it!

Their food is amazing. I like this place better than the food court.

The food is excellent, the service needs a tiny bit of refining, but the panninis rock!!! Club panini ftw! And their homemade chips are amazing.

Stopped here for a lunch meeting, the menu seemed really interesting. Unfortunately I was very underwhelmed by the food, the interesting flavor just didn't stand up and the texture of everything was off just enough to not be satisfying. The only reason I bumped up to a 3 was because at least their panini was made well - and not just a griddled sandwich.
