Chai was delicious. Grilled cheese was Ok. But the tomato soup was so great!! Fun atmosphere too. A little pricey but that's ok

Cute coffee shop with a nice patio. I loved the homey feeling and their support of local artists and activism. Not to mention, they're "green" with cups and cutlery. Their breakfast was SO TASTY!!

Less than ideal. I came here about six weeks ago & ordered a chai latte, they were out of chai (at half an hour after opening), okay, fine not the employees fault, so I ordered a caramel macchiato instead AFTER looking at the sign placed directly in front of my face on the counter that says flavor can be added to any drink. The woman behind the counter, who is standing next to a wall of syrups, tells me in the most patronizing tone that “this isn’t like a starbucks so i can just make you a macchiato, no caramel.” Okay. Fine. Not worth arguing. She then proceeded to tell me she was a baker, not a barista & asked me how to make a macchiato. This again, is not the employees fault but I am confused about why a manager would have someone who readily admits to not knowing how to make drinks making drinks, alone. Let her do her job & make sure you have an actual barista making drinks! Working service in something you aren’t trained in is a nightmare! I told her how to make a macchiato & we ended up with a bad sort-of latte. To her credit, she did offer to remake the drink if it wasn’t right but I didnt want to have to go back up & do this whole process again or come across as rude because I understand the struggle of difficult customers & I never want to be a difficult customer! This place might have great drinks, when made by someone who knows how to make them! I enjoyed the atmosphere & would definitely be willing to come back & try it again provided they have an actual barista working.

I quite enjoyed my breakfast, which included the breakfast panini and a bagel with cream cheese. The bagel came toasted. I felt that the prices were responsible and I was full.

Great latte! The gal working behind the counter was super sweet and quick and even offered a drink recommendation for the next time I come in. I do wish they had more options in the way of food, but it seems they are focusing on what they do best!

CommuniTea gets one star because their chai frosted snickerdoodle was absolutely delicious. Cheese hides a lot of deficiencies, but my turkey avocado and bacon panini without cheese (since I don't eat dairy) was pretty sad. Three thin slices of turkey. Ugh. Downtown OP has a lot going on but I guess this is why CommuniTea was nearly empty at 12n on a beautiful fall Saturday. Don't waste your time or money.

The coffeest coffee of all the coffees!!! Love this place â¤ï¸
My friend had been telling me about this place for awhile so we finally stopped in yesterday. I had an iced white chocolate mocha latte and she had a strawberry kiwi tea. Both drinks were delicious and we had some bagels too. This spot is definitely a hidden gem in OP. Next time I want to try a matcha latte and a danish!

Cool little coffee and tea shop in downtown Overland Park. Ample and comfortable seating and nice food and drink selection. I got the iced matcha latte and it was lovely without any sweetener. I also had a gluten free pumpkin scone. I love that they had pumpkin out of season! A little gem in KC.

KC Herbalist Magazine loves this place. All disposable cups and straws are compostable and they make a nice latte.

The original JS is best of all.
