Josh was our waiter and he did and absolutely outstanding job. Food was great, but our sandwich was overly crunchy with the breading on the chicken. Fries were awesome and the desert was to die for. Thanks for a great experience. First time visitors here.
Absolutely great neighborhood restaurant. You can't go wrong with the value and quality of the food and service.
Everything was good except the food. Everything was so spicy I could not eat it and it was not labeled in the menu as being spicy. I had the creamy pasta chicken and it was so spicy hot I could not eat it as well as the scalloped potatoes. Why is it restaurants think they have to highly season everything with spices or pepper ? there are people that have medical issues that cannot eat spicy foods And should be labeled accordingly if they are spicy in the menu options,
We have always gone for just appetizers and drinks at the bar. This time I sat in the dining room and had the Blue Filet with mushrooms. So good and it melted in my mouth. One of the best meals I've had in a while. Service was top notch. She gave us space but also checked on us multiple times to ensure we didn't need anything. The restaurant was loud but no so loud I couldn't hear myself think. Overall a great dinner.
Awesome experience as always. Great staff, wonderful selection of food choices. High quality all the way around.
The food was very good and we liked the atmosphere. It seemed like it was a new restaurant with opening day jitters. Our first appetizer went to the table behind us even though they refused it. They tried to bring us salads that we didn't order. They got one of our five orders wrong, but completely made up for that! Then they brought us a single onion ring on a plate and said "one fell". Where? Everybody can have an off night and I guess that was theirs. We will go back and try again!
We usually love Firebirds. This time, we sat outside, which was great minus the screaming (no crying, screaming) child whose parent congratulated her on how good she was acting. (eye roll) They've changed the garlic mashed potatoes, and now they're very salty without any other flavor. As with everything else, the price has gone up more than 10%. But, the service was excellent, as always!
We very much enjoyed the three course for $39.95 options. The BLT salad was very filling, our sirloins were cooked as ordered, the mashed potato, broccoli and mushroom sides were plentiful and we even had room for the tasty desserts...which were not really petite! Our server was very attentive and we were sorry to learn it was her last night as she was moving out of the area.
Ny steak was charcoal burned for a med order. Knew it was dry but didn't know until next day on leftovers that it was burnt. Didn't complain at restaurant but should have
My wife and I split an entree and a bottle of wine. There were no issues with doing the order this way. The meal was excellent, prepared perfectly.

Got rid of half price wine on Monday - promised to grandfather those who were regular patrons on Monday's. Didn't honor their promise - now half price watered down martinis. Service is now slow and inattentive. Food generally comes out wrong - over cooked is a common occurrence. A major disappointment compared to the Lee's Summit location.
Navaya was a great server. Black diamond martini is always great. Ambiance was good. Ordered medium over easy eggs and they were served hard. The shrimp and grits was very very very runny. Shrimp had good flavor but the grits were a broth consistency.
Food comes out very slow. Meatloaf special looks like a thawed out meat patty that came out cold. It takes 2-3 requests to get table bread. Soup was cold. Medium rare kids steak was raw. Steak in the steak penne special was raw.
I was sad that I brought my friend to dinner on an off night. My past experience with the honey garlic chicken, and roasted carrots has been perfection. Tonight not so much. The meat was cold. The vegetables weren't roasted enough. It was just like I said l... an off night. 😕
Firebirds Overland Park has always been top-notch. Servers professional, friendly and fast. Food never disappoints. The bar has so many selections and a knowledgeable staff. If you have a special occasion coming up, I recommend considering Firebirds!
