I went in for the first time last week to check it out because it I located close to my job. The salted caramel tart was so delicious that I took my mom and the kids back this morning to get some pastries. The reason I am only giving it 3 stars instead of 5 stars is due to their cashier's customer service. Both times I've been in, I've had the same young woman assisting me and both times she made us feel rushed to decide what we wanted and she was very short with us when we asked for silverware. She didn't seem to like her job or people very much. It tainted the experience a little.

Hate to be the one with a negative review, but hubby picked up chocolate chip cookies for a work function, and some macarons for me. The chocolate chip were not special, tasted like it was from the bakery at a grocery store. The macarons were way too sweet, not delicate at all. Was more of cake consistency than french macaron. Also the hazelnut was purple with purple filling, which would lead one to believe it was lavender. Should have been light brown. Most likely will not return.

We each had chocolate dessert and de-caf coffee. Service, dessert, and coffee were all wonderful. Will make a return visit soon. So glad we finally stopped here.

First time there but glad we stopped by. The Coffee is excellent. The cake were so good & it was difficult to decide on what we actually wanted. Every choice of mousse & chocolate was calling to me. Good atmosphere. We will go back.
Irina’s is the place I’m going to order my birthday cake from this year! I’m turning 50! This is the best bakery in Kansas City! She is so nice and says, bring the recipe and I will make you whatever you want! When you go in the bakery she has everything from croissants to cookies! The tiramisu is top of the top! I can’t say enough amazing things about Irina’s Gourmet Bakery!

Best dessert bakery I've been to in Kansas City. Really authentic high quality pastries, cakes, tarts, macarons, you name it. Only downside is they have pretty short hours and aren't open all weekend.

Are they reopened again? Last time I visited there it was closed with a bunch of signs saying the government seized it for not paying taxes or something. I hope they're back because they're there best bakery within 100 miles.
