We got to the restaurant and the hostess look at us up and down. I felt like I was being judge she told me since there was five of us we would have to sit at the bar. I said no thank you and left before i left I did say that she should be a bit more friendly since she is at the host stand and maybe if I was white she would have accommodate us. She made feel unwanted that’s too bad because I really wanted to go there for my bday.

Steaks were not cooked to order and they took away and never came back till after every one else was complete. When you spending 300.00 plus dollars management should try to make right.. sorry to say he did not say a word,

Disappointing based on overall cost and underwhelming craft cocktails. The 8 oz filet was quality but came out raw when ordered medium-rare. I understand the difficulty of getting a thick filet cooked nicely at medium rare, unfortunately it took staff forever to come back to the table and then too long to return my steak (which only needed maybe 1 minute at most). Cocktails were "meh" and overpriced at that. Tables are very small.

Our waitress, Karen B was fantastic! She made our evening amazing. I'm 68 & she got the biggest tip I have ever given. The only thing that was bad, they wouldn't take my sons coupon for his birthday. It did say not on .holiday, I realize it was Easter Sunday. Again kudos to Karen B. I will be back & I sure will request her. Thanks for making it a amazing meal. Everything at J Gilbert's is very good. The wood fired steaks, chicken and lobster are all excellent. Not to mention the Manhattans are the absolutely the best in town. I would highly recommend J Gilbert's for any occasion.
