Great service! A little pricey but the chips are so light and crispy, the food is delicious and service is fabulous.

Upon first entering, our initial thought was negative, as the decor reminded us of 1960’s or 1970’s cafe. That impression was overwhelmed by the immediately noticeable, well managed, operation. Our water, chips, and sauce were prepositioned in place before our arrival to the table. Whenever halfway down the chips basket, it was replaced with a new basket. Red sauce was never allowed to go below half full. The waitress was extremely attentive, always making sure all was up to snuff. The food was excellent. And lastly, what screamed out, “CLEAN,” was the clean salt and pepper shakers. As a former restaurant and bar supervisor, I’ve learned that clean shakers in front means a great chance of an equally clean unseen kitchen.

We waited 45 minutes for a table and then 35 minutes for our dinner which was 2 appetizers and 2 burritos noting complicated. After waiting 35 minutes to be served our food was cold and tasteless. Our waitress explained they had so many carryout orders and that is what took so long. Seriously shouldn’t people sitting in the restaurant take priority after waiting 45 minutes for a table and then 35 minutes for food. Absolutely ridiculous . Service was absolutely terrible except for the refills on our water and salsa. We eat here frequently but after tonight’s service we won’t be back!

Always great service, good food and casual atmosphere. Loved the birthday fried ice cream and taco special on a Monday.

Love, love, love this place! We hadn't been to Jalapeños in years but stopped in Aug. 19th, on a Tuesday and remembered why we love the place so much.
Food is always absolutely amazing, same with the service. Everyone is so friendly.
Our server that day was Becky and she was incredible!
We couldn't decide what we were wanting that day and she helped guide us with choices we really enjoyed.
What a great personality this woman has!! She didn't let our drinks get empty before checking to see if we needed more. She covered everything like a professional.
Definitely coming back again soon and hopefully we get Becky again as our waitress!
Jalapeños is clean and seems to be roomy enough. Always a crowd when we arrive, with a pretty short and reasonable wait for seating and food.
Beer was cold, food was hot and fresh.

This place is always good. I worked at the Brookside location all through high-school and it's still one of my favorite places. Their crispy tacos are perfection. They stuff the thin shells with delicious chicken or beef and fry them to perfection, topped with crisp cold fresh lettuce, juicy tomatoes and the best cheese amd green onions. Their enchiladas are one of a kind in a city that does enchiladas evey way to Sunday. When i was stationed in Ft. Drum New Yark in the military while I was pregnant my parents literally shhipped me a meal on dry ice i was craving it so bad. Theres a reason they've been around for 20 years and are still dominating the KC Mexican food scene. A classic in Brookside or OP. Simply the best comfort food around. You just gotta go. Try a shrimp taco or the fajitas. You can't go wrong. Did I mention the chubby burrito and the Jalapeño dip? Now I'm hungry......yummy.
