Ok yall. If theres one thing I know, love and appreciate, it’s a good donut. Mr. D’s donuts are top freaking notch! The cinnamon twists are so crispy but fluffy , literally the most delicious donut and they have perfected it. I’m also a big fan of their cake donuts with chocolate icing and sprinkles and the motchi donuts are incredible. Don’t sleep on Mr. D’s - like for real bc they will run out of donuts!!!

If you’re in Shawnee and craving a sweet treat, this is the spot.
Went in today for the first time and WOW! There is something for everyone. All was phenomenal and you should definitely give it a try if you haven’t!

I was really looking forward to trying these donuts because of all the hype, but was sorely disappointed. I had 2 bites and could taste the oil after taste. Sorry to say these donuts will not be my favorite. They looked pretty though.
We’ve already been consistent customers and huge fans, but around Mother’s Day, I had the last second idea to try and order my wife’s favorite donuts of theirs (S’more’s) which are usually only available around Super Bowl/Chiefs playoffs. I honestly think I sent the text the day before Mother’s Day and they responded kindly and said that they would. It 100% made the day even better for my wife! We will always go to Mr. D’s Donuts!

Mr. D’s is a time capsule in the best way possible. The vibe is classic donut shop: tables along the window, a little counter to post up with a hot coffee, and staff who are as sweet as the maple glaze. Friendly, helpful, and never rushing you out the door—just good folks slinging great donuts.
I had my first mochi donut here, and honestly… it’s a blessing and a curse. Blessing because it’s chewy, slightly sweet, and totally addictive. Curse because now the bar is set unfairly high for every other donut I’ll ever eat.
Whenever I’ve got people visiting KC, I make it a point to bring them to Mr. D’s. To me, this is a taste of Kansas City. It’s one of those rare spots where tradition, flavor, and local love all come together in one perfect bite.
They’re good—like, “I wholesale these to the café because I believe in them” good. Pull up early, bring cash, and treat yourself.

Went in with my 4 kids this morning, and the donuts were good. But the two young girls working the counter were not helpful when I said it's our first time inz they just stood there silent. they looked miserable and didn't smile once. Definitely need some customer service learning to do!
