The service and drinks were great! I would have given a 5 star on the food but it was my first time and the mushroom and onions for my steak were cold. Otherwise, it was a great experience and I would recommend it!

We visited Outback Steakhouse in Overland Park, KS for the Veterans Day complimentary 3-course meal, and the experience was excellent from start to finish.
Madison, the hostess, was on 1000%! Her customer service was beyond outstanding — she stayed engaged, was genuinely interested, and most importantly, friendly the entire time. Even after a quoted 90-minute wait (which ended up being only about an hour), she greeted us with the same positive energy and kindness when we returned.
Our server, David, also did a great job making sure everything went smoothly. The food was delicious — perfectly cooked steaks and great portions all around.
As a small suggestion to the Outback brand, I’d love to see the décor get a little refresh — maybe add more plants or foliage, some signature accents, and upgraded tables to really elevate the atmosphere.
Overall, we’re all very thankful and grateful for the experience. Three veterans left happy, full, and appreciated. Thank you, Outback Overland Park, for making us feel valued! 🥩🇺🇸

They said it's their busiest day of the year being veterans day and that there is a two hour wait.
Here's my problem, and why this is so very upsetting....... no joke when I say this and being as honest as I can be there was at least eight tables (probably more) completely open.

The reason I actually gave 1 star for service, instead of 0, was because the manager was very nice and took care of us. I hate writing a review like this. I haven’t eaten Outback in years and my husband and I are both Vets so we decided to celebrate here with the special meal. It wasn’t just 2 free meals, we have 4 kids who also had a $9+ meal and there was a drink ordered. I don’t even know the name of the server, as I wasn’t interested in complaining about anyone. I can’t think of a time where I’ve had such a rude server. I don’t even know why. She was so snippy responses to everything we asked. She asked if we wanted bread. We have a big family. Funds are always tight. So I asked if it was extra charge. She was clearly put off by that. Maybe because we also had a table full of kids. My husband ordered kids meals before our drink orders were in. She got upset about that. It was multiple responses before I had had enough. I just wanted to enjoy a nice meal. She stole that. I calmly stated she was being rude. She got loud and defensive and argued. I asked calmly if we could just have a different server. That was my way of just trying to de-escalate it. She said she was the only server. My husband asked if we could switch tables (plenty open), and she told us we had to get back in line and wait 2 hours. I was in shock and disbelief. She got really loud and saying she’s not being rude. I just stepped away and found a manager just to ask if we could swap servers. They were very nice and took care of us. Food was good. I really appreciate the manager. But I highly doubt I’ll be back. It’s hard to afford a nice meal out. Incredibly rude and unprovoked rude service is unacceptable and ruins the whole experience. I’m still in disbelief…
Burgers are great. Need to have a burger night 10.99.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and seated promptly. My server was wonderful and very attentive. The food was delicious and delightfully plated. The atmosphere was exactly how I had liked, calm and layer back for lunch time. Thank you to the team here for making my lunch such a pleasant one.

It's been a long time since I last ate here. With only two locations in the Kansas City area, the pickings are very slim. I came for the Kookaburra wings and decided to have dinner too. The wings are still the best in the city!! Dinner was very good too. Everything was hot, delicious and flavorful. I will be definitely coming back soon!
