I am so happy that Plaza III moved down South, now my favorite steaks are even closer!

Wanted to give 4 stars only because I have had better steak, but the steak was still great and the service was even better.

We came here for happy hour and had good service and good food. Their happy hour is from 3-6 daily, which is one of the main reasons we chose this place since it can be hard to find good deals on the weekend. We had a great time and the waitstaff was very accommodating in making sure we had everything we needed. Their seafood and tenderloin sliders are a definite go to. A good place to go for happy hour to get upscale food at a reasonable price.

It's in a strip mall now but inside you are back at the old location. The happy hour was good. One tip don't order a Manhattan.

The place has carried over its historic ambiance from the plaza to Overland Park. How lucky we are to have a place like this nestled in our surrounding neighborhoods. If you have never been here before than you have been missing out on exceptional steaks, seafood and top notch drinks that will have your pallet quenching for more. The sides are to die for and the service is 5 star. Give this place a shot! It will not disappoint. Tell the management and Manny who runs the place that Chris & Stan said hello.

My father treated us this past weekend for a nice dinner. This was his Favorite place for a great steak. This was our first time at the Overland Park location and it will be our last. The server didn’t know what items on the menu were gluten free and needed to check on almost every question I had. The worst part is my fathers steak was very thin and overcooked. He waited 30 mins for a new steak , his sides were ice cold by then and no one apologized or recognized the issue. He spent $400 on a dinner he couldn’t even enjoy.

We eat here routinely - best steaks in town. Gracious service, quiet atmosphere.

This was our first trip to Plaza III Steakhouse and we were very excited. We had a 5pm reservation on Valentines Day, and arrived about 10 minutes early. Upon arrival, we looked around and the restaurant was fairly empty, with the exception of the bar area. When we checked in the host was immediately flustered with the fact that we were early and told us, “you’ll need to wait until your actual reservation time, the kitchen really needs a break.” That set the tone for the

We decided to try Plaza III Steakhouse in Overland Park. we enjoy fine dining and we're looking forward to Plaza III. Walking up to the place we commented how strange it was that the restaurant was located in a strip mall. From the outside it looked shuttered and vacant. We jokingly asked each other if it was even open. We went inside and it was dark and very large. It didn't seem as cozy and intimate as r had hoped. And when we sat at the table the overhead light was so bright it felt like aliens were abducting us. And normally I wouldn't complain about that because you know, it's just a light. But it was shockingly bright shining right down on our heads and the table. We usually like candlelit ambiance with soft lighting. The restaurant kind of had a cafeteria/ buffet vibe going on. Finally I decided to ask if they could turn the lights down. They came back and said they turned them down 3%. It didn't look like they did anything so I asked "could you please turn it down a little more" he said "no. That's the best I can do. There are elderly people here." (we looked around and saw absolutely no "elderly people") so we sat in the glaring light. I'm a wine Steward and I have a very sensitive palate. I know my wines & liquors. It's literally my job. So, I ordered a my favorite-Stoli Martini dirty. I select Stoli because I know exactly how it tastes and it's my pick for a dirty martini. And of course they sent me back a martini that was not Stoli. They don't think I can tell the difference. This happens often anyway. Bartenders do not think that guests would know the difference between any vodkas. Anyway I just chalked it up to previous experiences and drank my mildly unpleasant martini. We enjoyed the fresh crispy vegetables with ranch that they bring out before the meal. And they also brought out delicious warm sourdough bread with butter. And we looked forward to our meal. We both ordered our steaks medium. When they arrived they were very rare. We had to send them back. So they brought them out shortly thereafter, still rare. We didn't want to say anything else because we had already had issues so we just packed up the food. We ordered dessert. Dean loved his key lime pie. It was quite tasty. However the cheesecake was very bland and pasty. It lacked flavor. I didn't even finish it. Overall it was a very disappointing experience. The ambiance, lighting, service and food were all lame. One good thing is, they took off $25 "managers comp". They didn't tell us that they did this. And they didn't really seem to care very much that our food was undercooked. They just seemed kind of annoyed. You know when someone is annoyed but they force politeness. It was like that. We will not be going back again.

The new location is deceiving from the outside in the stripmall. Inside, it's beautiful. Has a similar atmosphere as the original. Great happy hour specials & good drinks.

Love this place, best steaks and meatloaf. New location is okay... Liked the old one better, but try the steak soup made with people rib!

We just tried the restaurant for the first time in it's new location. The atmosphere is warm, the service is excellent and the food delicious. Great evening and worth the effort if you're not an "out South" person. Love that's it owned by a local.
