Not your fathers (or mine) Red Lobster. Prices are up - drinks are up - and the menu offerings are up - translation, everything up. My food criticism is tainted by what I ordered because it came in a plastic bag on a plate (some sort of combination of lobster, shrimp & crab with potatoes and overcooked corn swimming in some sort of butter offering - DO NOT order this particular item). Whoever in Red Lobster corporate thought this particular creation was a good idea - missed the boat. Besides being close to impossible to navigate (cracking the crab legs and trying to eat out of a plastic bag), it was beyond messy and cold to even get to the point of eating it. Other than that, after getting over the shock of the new pricing structure for the once lower priced menus, it was a pretty good experience. The selection of food was good (just that one bad offering that I can attest to) and a good selection of pricy drinks and I thought the service great - and was pleased enough with the experience that I may go back for another try at a later date (and order something different). ron in shawnee

I ordered a Seafood Pizza and it was meh. Just tasted bland. My feast consisted of asparagus, shrimp scampi, shrimp alfredo, and broccoli. The only thing that was good was the broccoli. The asparagus was overcooked and crunchy. . Shrimp scampi tasted overcooked and rubbery. The shrimp alfredo seemed like they left it on the heat lamp too long and baked the noodles. Just overall unsatisfactory.

Some of the food came out cold. Some came out overdone. Waitress was good and on top of things. If you were really concerned about your food quality, you would have contacted me sooner rather than later. Over a month, and you are just now responding. Don't bother.

Overall we had a nice evening though we had quite a long wait because they were busy due to Valentine's Day rush. Cocktails were very good and our waiter was attentive. The lobster tail was delicious but the scallops were kind of mushy. They were out of lobster bisque but made more on the spot but it wasn't very hot, and the broccoli was overcooked. I know they have had financial issues and closed several places but this place needs a little freshening in their decor.
It was a nice, quiet dinner with my daughter. We picked the perfect time to come and have dinner. Especially with it being the NFL AFC Championship weekend for my city of Kansas City, Missouri.
