My parents came from CO to KS to purchase a new car and the guy at the dealership recommended Smoke Town BBQ to them for dinner. They went over and found that it was closed, but Brian was outside and they struck up a conversation. My parents joked that they’d driven all the way from CO for some good BBQ and Brian was kind enough to go inside and bring them out some food to try. Luckily for me, they brought some back to CO to share and even as leftovers the next day, the burnt ends were DELICIOUS!!! What a kind and thoughtful person and business, and delicious food! Thanks for showing my parents such amazing KS hospitality! 💜
Smoketown was one of my favorite BBQ restaurants in KC. I gave them 5 stars on everything. Best burnt ends in town. Since it change owners I am disappointed with pretty much everything. Went there last Saturday night 6/14/25 around 6:15 and they were getting ready to close. They close every night at 7! Everything was more expensive and the burt ends portion was smaller and luke warm. The French fries were cold. All tables were cleared off for closing. Overall disappointed .
My husband and I ate a late lunch at Smoke Town today. I ordered the brisket sandwich (small) and it was Ala carte, served only with a pickle. My husband ordered the burnt end platter that came with two sides, a pickle and Texas toast. And we ordered two soft drinks. The bill was over $38.00. The meat was unbelievably delicious as well as the sides he received. However, the meat portions were shamefully small. He received seven chunks of burnt ends which were strategically hidden under the toast, and I received five slices of brisket on the sandwich. And in fairness, I did order the small sandwich. The only cheerful employee was a young female who came on duty for the evening shift after we were seated. Do yourself a favor before you decide to eat here. Stop at the Quik Trip just to the east and eat a taquito or hotdog, to at least get half full before you visit this restaurant.
Seriously? I don't spend money to be treated like that and fed bad food. you've changed. won't be back.
Outdoor seating available. Delicious. Sweet. Small. Perfect. Quick service. Pulled pork sandwich tasty. I was able to order the size of my sandwich in a small so it wasn’t so overwhelming. The onion rings were *chef’s kiss*!
Get that chopped burnt end sandwich. You will be satisfied
The Best Ever❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Perfect all around!! Can’t wait to be back!
Great BBQ with a family atmosphere. Highly recommend the burnt end tacos.
Well…I tried really hard to find something positive to say about the food, the service, the price, the position sizes but…I’ve got nothing. I hope they make some changes otherwise the grand reopen should be a grand closing.

Both my wife and I got the Burnt End tacos. Food was very good. NO MILITARY DISCOUNT! Very disappointed in hearing that many family members were in the military and still did not have any discounts 4 veterans.
