Oh my... this place has changed. I can see why during lunch hour its empty. The trees out front do the place a kindness and sheild the neighbors from it. Ordered the livers and gizzards. Doesn't matter how much of whatever that was they put in the box.. for me its just nasty. Bits fried in old oil in a horrible batter overcooked. It was wierd walking in and seeing one table of of 4 people that likely visited out of habit. The gravy.. oooo it was more cornstarch than anything else. At least they saved some money not adding unhealthy salt and seasoning. (Leaving my previous review)...They always make me happy that I chose it. Huge portions, did I say great tasting huge portions?

They were close to closing time when we arrived but, they were happy to seat us and did not rush us. We were the last guests in the house and they treated us no different than any other time- welcoming, hospital and very friendly. The food was fantastic, plentiful and fresh! I think next time I get to enjoy stroud's, I will purchase one of their fun tshirts, too!

Fried chicken is the star here — crunchy on the outside, tender inside, with a peppery gravy that ties it all together. Portions are huge, sides like mashed potatoes taste homemade, and the whole vibe feels like a hearty Midwest family dinner.

The only thing that tasted like the original Strouds was the green beans and gravy. The chicken tasted like it was refried.

There is a little bit of a mixup with my carry out order tonight. When I arrived home, I realized the mashed potatoes I had ordered did not get put into my bag. I was kind of tired and was not really paying attention as I should have however, the manager was very kind and replaced my entire meal for me fresh. Thank you!

Stroud’s is a Kansas City staple, known for its warm, welcoming atmosphere and down-home comfort food. The portions are generous, the flavor is always on point, and the service makes you feel like family. Whether it’s their famous fried chicken, hearty sides, or fresh-baked cinnamon rolls, Stroud’s consistently delivers a classic Kansas City dining experience.

First time here. Rather dissapointed. Everything was Luke warm at best. Potatoes were watery, Cole slaw was just off. We had a good time talking and visiting. I may give them one more try if I'm in the area, but not sure
