My wife had reserved a table here a week in advance or so she thought. We drove by Saturday night around 6pm and it was closed. We were pretty frustrated because it was the first date night we had been able to plan in months.

Food was so-so. Atmosphere...also so-so. I totally understand this being a niche place. And i'm sure some people love it, but it just doesn't quite compare to Pawn and Pint. And it feels pricy? Our waiter was kind, but didn't come around too often. I think he was probably annoyed with our larger group. In any case, I probably wouldn't recommend to go here for dinner. It's really just a place I would recommend for people in the area looking to play a ton of games and maybe have a beer. Otherwise, there are better places in town.

While the premise is fantastic, a restaurant built around the family game night experience, the execution is somewhat lacking. Firstly, your location makes it difficult to identify and harder to get to (not your fault but y'all's entrance from the road is all but nonexistent). The name "The Boardroom" is clever, I guess? But the term conjures up more corporate related than family fun related thoughts. Secondly, y'all need to decide on your priorities, are you a restaurant that has some games or a game center that serves food? If the point is to be a group/family oriented game hub then you need more than just a bakers dozen board games ready to play. The DnD crowd brings their own stuff but the rest of us expect some choices. Also, pro tip, invest in some risers for your tables. Games and food while inexorably linked don't mix without a mess, but if you can raise the middle of the table even an inch or two then at least stuff flows away from your aforementioned limited supply of tabletop entertainment. Lastly, layout, y'all clearly bought a restaurant and made it a game shop, so props to ya, but the layout still says restaurant. Here's my advice; get rid of the long narrow tables as soon as you can, focus the big groups in the outer wing and focus the smaller tables near the bar, and invest in making the experience something different than the expected. Glue some dice towers to a couple tables, have a small table that always has mousetrap set up and ready to play, you have the tools to do a lot of things to make this unique and fun and you've settled for okay. I honestly hope you get better because the community doesn't realize how good you could be.

I was back here a couple months ago for a friends trivia through geeks who drink. Everything was just mediocre. The food was ok nothing to be overly excited about. They do have some creative menu naming. Another reviewer commented that it's $5 to per person to play games. I feel if you're actually dining and buying drinks this should be waived. I can see there are probably some guests who come only to play their games and drink water.

This is the second time we've been here with friends. The first time had slow service, but it was OK because they had just opened and the food was good. But this time was an overall terrible experience. We went with some friends Friday night at 7 p.m. It took awhile before a waiter came over to take our order. Then after about 10 minutes he came back to tell us they were out of all mac'n'cheese, which two of us ordered. So we ordered different dishes. I was then told they were out of the rice bowls. So I ordered chilaquiles. About 25 minutes later some of our food arrived: the shepard's pie was tiny and not actually a pie and the burger and fries were fine. About 10 minutes later, our other friend's sandwich arrived. And then we kept waiting. I was then told they were out of the pulled pork and would need to put beef on it. Fine. Everyone else was done eating and my chilaquiles still weren't there. My husband went up to the counter to ask and could see them sitting in the window. By the time they came to the table, they were lukewarm. It wasn't really chilaquiles -- just two small tortillas with a little filling of meat, a drizzle of nacho cheese, and a rubbery egg on top. No crunch or fried tortilla. No salsa or beans. Tiny bowl. It wasn't even warm. We told the waitress. Luckily they comped the entire meal, but because the service and experience were so bad, we didn't even get to play a game. So we just went home and ate and played games there and it was a whole lot better.

If you're looking to have a little sit down fun time with the family away from the screens, or hang with your friends and have a few drinks, The Boardroom has a little bit of everything for most occasions. Sit and chat, have some fantastic burgers, play some board games. It's always a fun time at this convenient North OP location. The staff are all amazing!!

First time, settled in to Brunch with friends. Chicken and Biscuits we're good and I miss having that kind of gravy at home! We spent more time there than I anticipated, but that's not a bad thing. The staff was courteous and always checked in. We played our own games and didn't get to look at The Wall, but we plan on coming back!

It's a fun concept. The people are friendly. If you are unfamiliar with games it's a great place to try different games. There are other places in town that rent games for less expensive though. The appetizer food was good-wings, fries etc- but the actual food was far below standard expectations. We had a fire cracker salad. It had no flavor other than spinach and oil. I ended up asking for blue cheese dressing which didn't match the flavor of the shrimp (shrimp was flavored well) and didn't mix with the oil well. We also had fog horn leg horn sandwich. The chicken itself was very thin and the batter coating was very thick. The coating wasn't crispy so he took it off any just ate the thin, plain chicken. The cheesey corn was good but way too garlicky. We love garlic but it was very overpowering. Over all we may go back for appetizers and games if we needed a large space to play games. But probably not. Now you know

We came here with high hopes for a fun family game night, but we were sadly very disappointed. It costs $5 PER PERSON. This was an extra $20 to play games, more than the cost to buy a game. On top of this, the food was already over priced, $20 for a salad. The food was also a disappointment. The funky names were very misleading and the small array of options made it even harder. The salad was bitter with sour oranges on it and they only had 2 types of dressing (neither of which are good). The appetizers were also disappointing. The artichoke dip was bland and the homemade chips were overpoweringly oily. Will definitely not be returning. $90 for a bad meal? No thanks.

Stopped in to try the place out. Good food and competent service. I'm not much of a gamer and I was on a lunch break so limited for time. I'll go back when I have more time and try some different foods. I had the porkzilla sandwich and I was impressed with the flavor. The slaw on the sandwich was the kicker with the fresh apples giving it a great balance and flavor with a little crunch.

Whether you are simply looking for a chill atmosphere with good food and drinks, or you are looking to game and the food/drinks are a bonus, The Boardroom is the place to be.

I really hope this place can beat the curse of this location. I really liked the concept and the food was decent with a large selection of beers available. Hopefully it will catch on and they'll be able to remodel a bit to make it more on theme. (It still has elements left over from previous restaurants.) Board game selection looked good. We stopped here on a whim and had our toddler with us, so we skipped the games this time. We plan on coming back without him and trying the experience out with games to play.

Great food, great selection of board games, awesome staff. Game rental fee is a little pricey. Feel like you should get a free board game rental with the purchase of a meal.

Great service! First time customers & were greeted first thing and told all about the restaurant. Will be back

I don't think I've been to a place worst than this my whole life. My 2 groups came here. The first group said their service was pretty bad. I was in the second group. Both groups had the same waitress. It was also Burger Week so one burger was specially priced. They will not accept any substitution or leaving out an ingredient. The food was mediocre at best. Burgers were really dry and I didn't even finish half of my food. They kept forgetting our orders as well. It got so bad that the manager came out to smooth things over, but didn't offer to really fix anything. For the love of God, do not come here unless you have no expectation and like to be gouged with ridiculous fees to play your OWN game that you bring. I've had better service at QuikTrip.
