It's fast food salad and soup. It's all very fresh. It's a very clean place. I enjoyed the Rocket salad and mixing in extra ingredients. Great place for lunch.

I get my wife the salmon BLT and it's always fabulous. I mean fabulous. Today (August 12, 2025) it was spectacular, best ever she said. Every bite.

The bread was sumptuous, the salmon plentiful and perfect. The flavoring is always incredible, but today's was the best it's ever been.

Trust me: This is some of the best salmon in KC!

The Lunch Rush Hack That Changed My Healthy Eating Game!

I almost made the rookie mistake of showing up at The Mixx at noon, but a last-minute decision to arrive at 11:30am completely transformed my lunch experience! This bright, open-concept restaurant with its modern vibe was just starting to buzz when I walked in.

Craving something healthy yet satisfying, I ordered their half Pretzel Chicken Sando paired with half Garden of Eden salad - the perfect portion that left me feeling energized rather than sluggish. The cashier's friendly smile made ordering a breeze, though I did encounter a small hiccup when several tables needed wiping down (nothing a quick self-service cleanup couldn't fix).

What makes The Mixx special is their commitment to food that's actually good for you - everything prepped from scratch using non-GMO certified ingredients without preservatives or high-fructose corn syrup. As Kansas City's first healthy fast-casual spot (opened in 2005!), they've perfected the art of making nutritious food that doesn't sacrifice flavor.

Pro tip: Arrive before noon to beat the rush and check out their specialty diet menus if you're following Whole30, Paleo or Keto - they've got you covered! Oh..and I didn’t eat the cookies 🍪 okay, even though I really wanted some! 🤤

Sometimes the best lunch decisions aren't just about what you eat, but WHEN you eat it. The Mixx proves healthy can be both quick AND delicious! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Fire wren !!!
I always buy salad from here because I love the taste but my last experience with this manager has never been good
All the times I’m there she is talking bad to the workers , she don’t know what she is doing since it’s been at couple times I make questions about food and she always find someone else to answer , I mean she is a manager or supervisor!!!
Last time was my last straw
I was ordering my food when other women walking in and she made the worker stop make Make my salad to go help the other lady ( white ) so know I understand, she is use discretion tactics for everyone who is not white , terrible attitude and no work ethic at all !!!
I just think in the workers there they are all nice and friendly , the owner need to deal with this 😠

This used to be a favorite of mine, but I'm done with it. I tried to order carryout online, but the website refused my credit cards, so I ordered by phone. Then the credit card was fine. They now charge extra for a plain dinner roll to accompany a full-size salad, but the order-filler neglected to include the roll. Our 3 salads (all Garden of Eden) were good, but the sandwiches were disappointing. The falafel was mushy. My husband found the Country Club difficult to eat. Eating in the restaurant might be a better choice, but it was deafening on a Tuesday at noon.

Have not been to the Mixx for almost a decade. They have definitely improved their selections and options in many ways. They did not offer so many sandwiches and specific salads before. Will most assuredly be back.

Food was solid, a little bland but definitely a healthy alternative and large portion sizes.

I’ve been here a few times when seeking a healthy option, but wow, be prepared to spend some money to eat healthy. My husband’s lunch sized salmon salad was $21 and this was not a sit down and get waited on establishment.

It took them 3 times to make my garden of Eden salad and even the third time they got it wrong. I asked for dressing on the side and sub goat cheese for bleu cheese. So my husband was half way through with his lunch before I finally got my salad with the right kind of cheese, but they still drenched it in dressing.

My pretzel chicken sandwich (1/2) was really small and the chicken was really tough, I couldn’t eat most of it.

The chicken tortilla soup was the best part.

Ordering in two separate places then trying to combine the ticket at the end wasn’t difficult, just a bit annoying.

They definitely have some misses to improve, but we like to have it for a healthy, quick option if the budget allows.

The food is good quality but above average in price.

We had two sandwiches and the price was just under $40.

My sandwich was supposed to come with mayo, and no lettuce. It came with no mayo, extra lettuce and Dijon honey aioli.

Might be other options for the price

We had a sante fe salad and a club sandwich. We were not impressed. Just not much flavor, loud music, you have to order from 2 separate areas to get 2 meals so 2 lines to pay. I honestly would rather have Doc Greens.
