Small, "everyone knows everyone," neighborhood place that makes the best margueritas and Mexican food. Been going there for 25+ years - never disappointed.

We recently visited this Mexican restaurant in Kansas City with friends and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. The ambiance was authentically traditional, setting the perfect mood for an enjoyable dining experience. The food was simply amazing; we tried the fish tacos, enchiladas tres amigos, fajitas, and chimichanga, and each dish was bursting with flavor. The drinks were also a hit among everyone in our group. What truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by Lucita, our waitress. She was incredibly kind and patient, taking the time to explain menu choices and ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Her attentiveness added to the overall positive experience.Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Mexican cuisine and outstanding service in Kansas City. It's definitely a must-try!

This is probably the worst Mexican I've ever had. I was taken aback by just how bad everything tasted. Starting with the chips and salsa, the salsa was almost straight up disgusting. It tasted on par with chunky ketchup without the sugar. There was a massive piece of tomato in it too, so big it could almost be an entire roma. I got the strawberry margarita. The first red flag was just how bright red it was. It was basically just a cup filled with strawberry syrup. My friend got the lime margarita that was somehow even worse. Hers also didn't even have a lime on the rim of her lime margarita. The enchiladas were fine. One of my friends with me also got enchiladas and hers was completely smothered in cheese. As you can see in my picture mine just had a tiny bit of cheese. The tacos were soggy and so basic. The beef was not well seasoned in either the tacos or enchiladas. The lighting was very dim and it was kind of hard to see. The staff were nice and the food came out fast. The food was lacking and tasted either frozen or straight from a can. Would not come back.

I was craving Mexican and left craving Mexican. The service was fine but the food was just not great. I'm not sure how you mess up salsa but it had no flavor and was super watery. The margaritas were so sweet I'm not sure they even had alcohol in them. The tacos were soggy by the time they were put in front of me. The enchiladas weren't too bad and I did like that they put some queso on top but could have used more queso for sure because they were so dry. Our friends ordered the sopapillas and said they were super doughy unfortunately. I probably won't be back unfortunately.

We get back to Torreon's from time to time. We moved away from the neighborhood 25 years ago but make the hour trip to get the Margaritas. Bring a DD because you'll want more than 1. The food is great as well. Small cozy place but well worth the wait for a table.

I was referred by long time customer…I did not even know about this hidden gem. I read several reviews before posting mine—I was stunned at a few of the negative comments??? My experience was 5 star - I got my food to go. Customer service was excellent, when we got home——the food was amazing!!

Busy little place. Local favorite. Food was a little slow, but to be expected considering the crowd when we were there.

1. Cutest little place ever. The atmosphere and vibe is super cool.2. Margaritas are probably the worst I've ever had in my life. They are not margaritas. It's a mixed nasty lemon lime drink. They need to call it something else cause it tastes nothing like a margarita. And theyre $103. I didn't order food cause I was already disappointed by the chips and salsa, no fajita meat (yet they had chicken and beef) and the margarita.4. It's American Mexican food not real Mexican food. You get choices of ground beef or chicken. So keep that in mind.But....if the atmosphere is what you're looking for, it's super cute.

Great food but not a great place to eat at. Very packed in. Closer than Cheesecake Factory. We get to go since we live nearby. Have never had a bad dish.

Came for a birthday dinner. What a joke. Severely understaffed and cook quit/left/got sick? shortly after we sat down with our three young children (7and under). 45 minutes waiting for food and then told they did not have one of the entrees we ordered. We left immediately upon getting that news.

The staff was nice but you’re crammed into the place, my taco shells fell apart the moment I picked them up, watery salsa and the rice tasted like bags you throw in the microwave, ended up just going to McDonald’s

Margaritas are so delicious and so strong. I highly recommend the tamales.Be prepared for a wait. Though it's well worth it. And you can order a marg while you wait for a table.

Even though the service was great and the food was delicious I will not be coming here again. The menu stated my burrito was topped with red sauce and con queso and I only asked to not top with red sauce they charged me $17.79 instead of $14.29. When I asked what the difference was I was told there was an up charge for the con queso even though the menu stated topped with red sauce and con queso. Absolutely no mention that there was an up charge for con queso. Very disappointed! Was looking to enjoy this place more often but not when you are not upfront with your charges and scammed me
