We met friends there for drinks and we were expecting more of an upscale vibe. Maybe that's on us. It wasn't a game day but definitely had more of a sports bar feel. Staff and patrons were casual and in jerseys. If it was a Sunday afternoon I wouldn't think twice but for a Friday night we were hoping for a nicer atmosphere. The drinks were ok. Nothing particularly special. Pretty standard.

My party of 7 ate here around 1 p.m. on a Saturday. Atmosphere was very nice. Three of us split burger sliders and chicken potstickers and they were phenomenal. Everyone else raved about their food. The server was very friendly. 5 stars would recommend to anyone.

This establishment is very lack luster and not very well run. We planned a party to be there, we looked at the website and did our research. The menu looked awesome and we planned our meals. Whern we arrived we discovered that half the items didnt exist!!! and even worse the items that did were in no way Chef prepared as the website stated unless he came from golden corral. The food was horrible and the service was even worse . It was my wifes bday and i wanted a special dinner with family and friends all 12 of us were disappointed. It took over 30 minutes for my wife to get her second drink!!! We spent over 600 dollars on a meal that we could have gotten for 45 . The menuy not only didnt match the online menu . The menu onsite was printed so small our 15 year old couldnt even read it. If you want to plan an event , take my advise and look else where. The fact this place is built on lies and is a farce almost ruined a great family party for my wife.
Been here a number of times and it's always been consistent. The wait staff is very attentive. The food is top notch. The menu rotates per season and I hear the owner is a foodie. You can get a little of everything here. The drink menu is vast. The whiskey selection is the best in the Kansas City area. Love to come here for date night and sometimes just to chill out and relax. You won't be disappointed.

I’ve now been to Veritas twice, once for a date night and once for a girlfriend’s birthday. Both times were fabulous. Service was great, the indoor/outdoor vibe was fun and the food was delicious! It’s a fun alternative to going downtown and parking at Prairie Fire is a breeze. Highly recommend and be sure to get the Honey Whipped Goat Cheese!

Stopped in on a Sunday evening for a quiet dinner for one. Started off with chicken pot stickers and a muddled blackberry margarita. Finished with garlic mashed potatoes, grilled Brussel sprouts, and seared mahi mahi in a berblanc reduction. Everything was great from the first bite to the last!! I chose the patio seating and was not disappointed for the ability to people watch. The service was impeccable! Highly recommended!!!
Parking: There is limited free street parking, but the free public parking garage is within a short walk.

Veritas is synonymous with date night! Wonderful vibe with an exceptional one man band! The seafood paella (serves 2-3) was exquisite! An available smaller portion would be ideal for me but I get it.
Can't wait to return and try more dishes.

Beautiful atmosphere. Food cooked great with tons of flavor. Old fashions were delicious. Waitress seated us right away outside and was prompt and friendly in every area. I will for sure go here again.

The service was fine. Very disappointed in food and drinks. French Dip was extremely dry. Drinks were very inconsistent; three of us in our party ordered margs, and each one tasted different, and the Paloma was horrible.

I HATE to drag a place for things partially beyond their control, but this was just too much. Arrived on a Friday night one minute before our 7pm reservations. It was notably hot inside, but I didn't think anything about it initially. We were seated immediately. Only after our drinks arrived (both excellent), were we told the A/C was not functioning (on a 96⁰ & humid KC evening).
By the time our food arrived, my date and I were sweating uncomfortably. Within a few minutes, someone decided to open the large garage-style door. This provided maybe two degrees of difference, but the ensuing gnat invasion made the bad night worse. The server apologized a couple times for the heat and the gnats. He could tell we were not having a good time.
Halfway through her meal, my date gave up on it. Though it was good, it was too much work keeping gnats off the food and out of our eyes and ears between bites.
I was really surprised to learn we weren't offered any comps for the bad experience. I tipped my 21% because the young man was apologetic and made sure we had plenty of water.
But at some point, someone should have checked on all the patrons. This is a management and leadership issue. Let your customers know when they arrive that the HVAC isn't working like it should. Don't open the garage door to let gnats into the already still & stuffy room.
Disappointed. Highly unlikely to ever return. Food was good. Drinks were great. Atmosphere was terrible.
