Would enjoy more vegetarian items on the menu. Dessert Souffles are great for Monday nights. I would also enjoy a savory souffle. The souffles might arrive faster if we had mentioned that when we reserved. However, we did order them the moment that we were seated. The wait staff seems to always be different people rather than loyal staffers.

I had promised my sister a meal at my favorite restaurant when she came into town. We finally went and she was as impressed as I always am. This is outstanding in every category I can think of!

The lunch was perfect. We asked for a table that was in a quiet location and also away from drafts . We were bringing my mother - in - law as a guest , and we hadn't seen her recently. The service was friendly and patient, and the food was impeccable. We had the potato and artichoke soup and a Caesar salad as the first course ,along with bread service .We had three different entrees , the quiche Lorraine, the savory chicken crepe with mushroom sauce, and the seared scallops . Cafe Provence has mastered classic French cooking while incorporating the best in local fresh produce and ingredients. We did not have wine today but had both regular and decaf coffee. The coffee was delicious as usual. We shared two desserts, an apple tort with homemade ice cream with a caramel drizzle, and a multi - layered chocolate extravaganza . I don't speak French , but it was several different layers of chocolate mousse , both light and dark , with a chocolate ganache and creme fresh on top? We were there for approximately two hours and were never rushed. It was a lovely lunch on a rainy Thursday afternoon and reminded me of Le Havre and Paris.

This is a lovely place. The food was excellent from start to finish. The service was amazing. My only wish would be for a bit more space. We were seated at a two top. Next time I will request a booth. Oh, I do have one other wish! Same wonderful food and same wonderful service but lower price! Think I'd need a Time Machine to fulfill that wish! I will return. And highly recommend Cafe Provence for a lovely fine dining experience.

Charm

A few service mishaps such as no silverware when bread was brought to the table, waited for a few minutes for the server to arrive. Than the order missing the salmon. Noise was not a fault of the restaurant but I sat outside and a car was frequently armed, disarmed less than 1 yard from my table and outside people were walking thru the busy tables with their bags.
