Cold food and long waits. The same for the augusta location. Rock location is bright. The augusta location is dark! Either way. The food is okay if you can get it warm and they make your order correctly. Only 1 time out of the several we've been has our order been correct and warm. Heaven forbid you get refills or a glare when you ask for one.
Eaten there several times and been happy with the food and service. Will continue to go.

We had out of town family visiting who only had time to stop for breakfast. We waited over 1 hour for our food and when it arrived it was cold. Two of the orders were wrong (and we were charged for the wrong orders).
I have tried to like this place but service is always slow. Last time we were there for the catfish on Friday, it was so salty I couldn't eat it and now this final straw of slower than normal service, overcharged for food we didn't order and didn't,eat, And cold food makes it a no go. I understand staffing issues but when others who came in after us were served and out the door while we waited, and waited even after complaining to waitress how long we had been there. I'm not sure what the issue is.
We were there for over 2.5 hours. To be overcharged for cold food, and slow service is ridiculous. Even though we're only a few miles away, we won't be back.

Food consistency. We used to be regulars and then mainly went down to one day a week. I've had the best omelette there but I've also probably had my worst omlete there, things just are not consistent, other than the pancakes, the pancakes are huge everytime! The last two times we went in there were dozens and dozens of flies and instead of killing them, the employees just sat on their phones in their down time. One repeat customer, she literally brought in her own fly swatter, expecting flies and was swatting flies left and right at her table. That's the employee's job, we haven't been back since, we might try Augusta.

Excellent food. We had the roast beef dinner tonight and it was exceptional. The roast beef was melt in your mouth tender, mashed potatoes, home gravy, green beans, and Texas toast. It's a Thursday night special, think we'll be back again.

It was decent food but the onion rings were over cooked. Wait time seemed a bit long but I think they were also short handed so be patient with them.

Wife and I stopped in on a Friday for lunch the special was Fish. Was surprised to see you had a choice of 3, Cod, Catfish or Tilapia. I had Catfish, she had the Cod. Both were generous portions were served with tots or fries.
Fish was coated properly not too overdone hot, crispy, and juicy. I had the tots they are good, but the fries look to be hand cut/homemade and is the way to go in my opinion, and incredible. The basket came with hush puppies and a side of pasta salad. The hush puppies were amazing tasted homemade and certainly hand dipped the breading was slightly irregular very light and crispy. We subbed the pasta out for okra it was more okra than breading again, the way we prefer it, very good. Fish was served with a homemade tarter. Very friendly staff!
We have had breakfast here a few times also, again good portions and a good lil breakfast place.
Absolute hidden KS gem definitely worth the drive to get there. Very humble funky lil place. Would highly recommend.

I must've been hiding under a "Rock" thought just Bkfst. Immersed in 50's Diner from music, checkered floor, decor, old display case. ❤️ the Mural & other artistic touches. Hamb Steak was moist w/mushroom gravy. Sweet Potato Fries. FRESH crisp Salad. Must have HOMEMADE PIE. I had PB pie, friend had Pecan Streusal. So good got 2 more to take home. Worth the stop.
