Got a to go order while heading back to Kansas City and everything was AMAZING! I was warmed welcoming when walking in to pay for the order and the server checking me out was so kind and friendly. I got the cheeseburger steak with mash potatoes and scalloped potatoes. It was some of the best scalloped potatoes I’ve ever had. My husband got the country fried steak and biscuits and gravy. He loved all of it. He makes great homemade biscuits and gravy but said these were better than his. Great prices and portions are big! Can’t wait to come back here next time we are visiting friends near Salina.

I was actually looking for a steak breakfast but ended up with pork chops and I can tell you instead of just getting one or two I got six large pork chops. Oh my gosh, I was shocked when the waitress put the plate in front of me no hashbrowns thank you I said, and the waitress said to me if you would’ve got hashbrowns if there would’ve been a second plate oh my goshand you know the price was only $13 and change it was delicious. The waitress was very attentive. She came by more than twice to make sure that I was OK. She was nice friendly. What a great place. I was just driving through and wanted a breakfast and if I ever drive back to Salina, Kansas I will definitely be coming back to eat here

My wife and I ate here the morning of 9/11 after spending the night at the Best Inn Motel down the street (a great place to stay, by the way!). I had the Breakfast Scramble with sausage mixed in with what they say is two eggs, biscuit and gravy, and hash browns. I'd like to see the size of the hens that laid those eggs if it was only two, because the serving size looked like at least four regular eggs! And half the plate was a pile of hash browns. I don't remember what the wife had, but she (and pretty much everyone else's orders I saw) had a huge pile of hash browns also! You may want to consider splitting an order, unless you're REALLY hungry or plan on taking food home! The service was good and friendly and the food came out pretty quickly.

We travel to Salina periodically and we're always looking for a good breakfast place. This place definitely fit the bill. Food quality was excellent, and the prices were outstanding. Will definitely go back!

A made from scratch cafe. A relic of a bygone era. The excellent comfort food hang out. This place is exactly what it needs to be. You can tell exactly how good this place is by the wait. Generous portions of made from scratch food. Everything from the breakfast food, to the burgers, meatloaf, and even the legendary Sunday Turkey and Dressing is comfort food that feels like a warm hug. The wait staff bustle around to help as many as they can. Enough said. Super solid food. 10/10.

Had some issues with the staff and preferences of who would and would not service out table. The food is decent a touch bland for my taste but was not bad. Staff switched where we were going to sit. The waitress never said anything south but it was apparent that some people were not her type based on service. I had high hopes I was let down. The eggs were wrong twice and the hash browns were not cooked through.
